SisSoft Sandra shows the FSB at 266mHz so I don't know why PCMark and 3dMark don't. Go figure. Scores would probably be better if they read right, but I am happy so far and I haven't overclocked a thing.

Dark Ranger 0
@WK, Nice scores there...for a GF3 Ti500 CPU Unknown 1800 MHz FSB 400 MHz Crimson, You have an AMD Processor right? How can you have a 400MHz FSB when you own an XP? It must just be a mistake in the text. @Snakebite1967, Yea, I hear it really taxes your system. I have d/led it but I'm waiting for the "Final" DX9 from MS. No more betas for me! Edited February 17, 2003 by Dark Ranger
NightCrawler 137
I don't put a whole lot on scores, how's it perfom in the game that all that matters!!
WhiteKnight77 1
Actually on the embassy map where I have always gotten the best FPS, I get 260+ in the hotel. That is with AA disabled and Vsynch off with all details on high and no shadows.
Dark Ranger 0
I get 260+ in the hotel. How? I still can't get my system to unlock above 86FPS...even with ReFresh Force Utility, V-sinc disabled, and AA and Anistropic Filtering to 0. Let me know anything special you've done. I'm not obsessed with FPS, just want to see what my system can do.
WhiteKnight77 1
I am using RivaTuner and turn off AA in both D3D and OpenGL. VSynch is always off with a setting of 3 I have anisotropy set to be determined by application are what is set for D3d. Ild like to see what my 3DMarks would show if it reported everything as 266mHz like my FSB is. We have the same mobo and I know it shows 2400+ during post with RAM at 200. just dont see the 400mHz RAM that I am supposed to have.
RooK 0
10003 3dmarks on my good ol 8500 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=4922796 WhiteKnight, surely you know that these programs that tell fsb mainly tell 'true' fsb. Example, 266 is actually theoretical, the true system fsb is 133. Same goes for all the P4 people who put 400 or 533 fsb in their sigs, it's actually 100 and 133 fsb multiplied by 4. As you can see in the link, my fsb is running 148 or 296 doubled. Also, in bios, are you maxing your memory timings? If your ram can take it, that's a good way of maxing scores. WhiteKnight77 1
I'll have to get my RAM setting for them. I can let you know what kind of RAM I have so you can recommend something.
Stinger 0
I just ran PC Mark and got this, CPU Score 6201 Memory Score 4712 HDD Score 7127 WK, what type of HDD do u have? And I got 512MB PC2100, if you got 512MB PC3200 you should really be kicking my...something sure is wrong there.
RooK 0
Well, most ram tells what it can run. The reason I spend money on good ram like my Corsair XMS is it can run over the rating they give it, and it's cl2 latency garanteed (most ram is cl2.5). Plus it can run the most aggressive timings you can throw at it. It's meant for 166fsb, but I've ran it upwards 172 while still maintaining reliability and aggressive timings. As for benching your hdds, be careful. That's more stressful than probably 1 year of use. Most hdds break from benching than any normal day to day use. I have not and will never bench my hdd. WhiteKnight77 1
I'm using Samsung non-EEC unbuffered RAM. I need to check the BIOS settings as far as latency and such. Right off the top of my head it's 3 but not sure. I went in to the BIOS and got his information: SDRAM Active Precharge Delay 8 SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay 4 SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay 4 SDRAM CAS Latency 3T Can I change that stuff so it's runs better being Samsung OEM RAM? Edited February 18, 2003 by WhiteKnight77
RooK 0
It should be able to at least run 2.5 latency, maybe even 2. As for the other settings, read your manual or other forums to see what the most aggressive setting are and try them out. If the pc becomes unstable, start lowering the rates till you find the max you can use.
