CR6
I've finally had a chance to read the full preview at PC Gamer (U.S.). I think Dan Morris made some excellent points, and I particularly like the quote, "There is no difference between what makes a game "good for PC" or "good for consoles." [...] So why is Ubisoft laboring under the delusion that Ghost Recon 2 will be more successful if they can somehow "console-ize" it? Nice commentary on the article WK, you really summarized the important parts of the preview for the fans here that haven't read it yet. One question for everyone here: No doubt that the single player experience in GR2 has changed dramatically. However, many people here continue to play GR mainly for the multiplayer aspect of the game. Besides the option to play 3rd person, do you think that the intensity of multiplayer (both co-op and adversarial) GR2 will be any less than GR1? And if so why? I don't see any reason why GR2 couldn't be a great MP game.
WhiteKnight77
Thanks CR6. While I can't actually say what was going on in his mind as he played the preview or what he felt afterwards. His words speaks volumes IMO. As I had said, it is just my opinion(s) on his article, but I tried to capture his feelings with tthem. I don't really want to comment on what MP will be like until we can see more of what GR2 is like. I will say, that for me, MP is where gaming is at and when GR first came out, I practically did all the missions online with other humans players in Coop. IMO GR (as should be GR2) was made for Coop as present and past Coop tournaments show. There is big interest in Coop gaming and it seems that GR led the way with it, to remove or dumb-down that aspect of a great game means shooting oneself in the foot.
