C&C: Generals

Recommended Posts

Will it work on my Pentium 4, 1.8ghz, 248mb ram, 32mb video card pc?

its going for $40 here now, which is pretty good, so im thinking about getting it as i have most other C&C rts games. (im not gonna gonna get Renegade, C&C not in rts form, seems tacky & cheap)

just noticed that alot of good games are cheap as chips now (Black Hawk Down is now $20 here).

Wont run with your 32mb Graphx card - I have tried it on a TNT2 - just stuttered even on lowest settings.

You can get a carc that will run it for not much more than the money you are paying for the game - and you are wasting a decent CPU with such a lousy GPU.

Upgrade!

could i get a basic Geforce 4 card put in? without having to update everything else? like my soundcard etcetc

even a 64Mb 440MX should be enough to run it on basic settings - though you'd be advised to get another 256Mb Ram stick - just to help things along.

I would get a 128MB Ti4200 (at least), which can be had for under $100 these days, and another stick of 128MB DDR RAM. Preferably 256+ MB.

And yes, you would be able to play BHD.

My friend plays it on roughly the same setup as you have right now. It runs... not well.... laggy.... but it does run. Not up to my quality of play but he doens't want to upgrade right now. I would go with people's suggestions and get a newer Vid card and some more RAM. Make sure when you get new RAM that you get the right speed and don't go over the amount specified by your motherboard. GL. :)
