The_Slink 0
Hi. For some reason the front page doesn't load. I can see the banner and the links but no news or anything. Forums work fine. Any ideas?

Jaybee 0
It doesn't load in Explorer for me either, but in Firefox it does. But it is slower then usuall. Related problem: I cant access the download page, either in Explorer or Firefox. Sometimes the pages appeares to have loaded but in the status bar it says "Waiting for www.planetrainbowsix.com...". When I click on any of the links (Solo missions, Campagins etc) nothing happens. I just did a fresh reinstall off GR and I need some stuff urgent. Even though the news pages loads, I have the same message in the status bar there as well. In the code on the downloads page as well as the news page there is a reference to the PlanetRainbowSix website. Maybe thats whats "holding GR.NET back": <script language="JavaScript"> <!-- function open_snippet2( bm ) { mywin = window.open( 'http://www.planetrainbowsix.com/atwar/' + bm,'win','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,copyhistory=no,width=400,height=600' ); mywin.focus(); } function open_snippet( bm ) { mywin = window.open( 'http://www.planetrainbowsix.com/atwar/' + bm,'win','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,copyhistory=no,width=250,height=420' ); mywin.focus(); } function openWindow(url,x,y) { popUp=window.open(url,'pop','width='+x+',height='+y+',scrollbar=auto'); } //--> </script>
Jaybee 0
I see now that the entire download page doesn't load, it stops right after the first section. This is how far I get: Edited May 21, 2004 by Jaybee

Jaybee 0
I'm lost. I've tryed everything. I even turned off my router and my firewall, I tryed on my wifes computer, but it is impossible to access the download section. With Firefox a part of it loads, in IE it doesnt load at all. Can't view Planetrainbowsix either. @ zjj: This is a long shot, but do you think you could go to Planetrainbowsix due to the fact that you had a old version of the saite in your cache? It's has hapened to me before. Would you mind clearing your cache and trying again? Am I the only one with this problem?
ZJJ 74
I've never been to planetrainbowsix.com before, but I will clear my cache and try again when I wake up in a few hours... just got home after a long day's trip.
Jaybee 0
Thx but if you never been to planetrainbowsix before my theory doesn't work.
Jaybee 0
It gets wierder and wierder. I went to the download section again and noticed that even though it loaded only the top section as usuall (se above pic), this time it was still loading in the background. I waited and waited and after 6 minutes it had loaded a bit more of the page. On the picture above it has stopped loaded after the "Just in" cell. Now I have gotten as far as the "Mission" cell. The other pages loads just fine so I still think PlanetRainbowSix is to "blame" here. The other pages doesnt have that code I posted above and since I cant access planetrainbowsix, that must, somehow, be it. BTW, I'm using Firefox at the moment because in IE it still doesnt load anything, download page doesnt even show up. Edited May 23, 2004 by Jaybee
Stalker 0
the news page and download section load fine for me...... but I don't know why some of us can't get to aus vipers page
Jaybee 0
Problem solved. Sort of anyway. Since I had the same problems on both my machines with different OS, with and without router, with and without firewall and with three different browser, I started thinking: What does my computers have in common? My connection, my ISP. I gave them a call and to my surprise they told me I was the second caller that day that had the exact same problem with the exact same websites (all "planet" sites and Gamespy). They where a bit baffled but was working on it. Now I can relax a bit when I know the problems is out of my hands.
