Last night I was hosting a multiplayer game. We were geared up to go...and then my computer crashed 3 or 4 times in a row.

:wall:

Half the time, it would crash to desktop. The rest of the time, the other players could not kill the enemy despite firing quite liberally into them at close range.

:support:

However, on some missions, we were able to play okay--Russian Bridge in HX5 comes to mind. One mission we COULD NOT get to run (with 6 people) was "BOOM for Your Life."

However, after 2 people dropped (4 remaining), we were able to run it with no problems.

Here's my setup:

- Running a pentium 2.8 GHz, 1GB of memory

- connected to router (Netgear RP614v2) along with another computer (this computer was one of the 6 when crashing and then one of th 4 when not)

- this is connected via cable modem to internet (netgear)

Any ideas?

Okay.

WK, made sure no other players had any mods active besides HX5, DS and IT. Still had the problem..but only on certain missions.

Here's the setup:

I was hosting and playing on the server. It's a P4 2.8GHz, with Gigabit LAN (cable modem connected). Running netgear router with latest firmware and a netgear cablemodem. Had me + 5 other players. Two of the players were on a seperate LAN sharing a router.

Tried some .HX-D defend missions and they seemed fine, even with 6 players. Then went to some others...crash after crash. Tried HX Island Flyby...no good. BOOM for your life...no good. Tried going to just Desert Siege and Island Thunder with no HX5...no difference.

When we got down to 4 players, everything worked. Is it possible that one of the guys that dropped was causing the problem for all? Does the computer or router get overloaded for more than 4 players?

One other thing. I don't have "behind firewall" box x'ed. Not sure if that matters.

Any help? Getting a little frustrated with all the crashes. If anyone has any potential tip, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks.
