CR6 0
We're trying to figure out the logistics at GR Retreat for recording, editing, and uploading videos from E3. Just curious what people recommend and/or prefer to download ... a QuickTime .mov file or a Windows Media Player .wmv file? Also, anyone care how big the download is? Our GR1 E3 video was 45MB. I prefer not to use DivX or RealPlayer. Anyone can tell me about QuickTime vs. .wmv - quality compression vs. download file size etc. for each format?
Crimson 0
Windows Media Player .wmv Don't feel like loading up QT... .mpg, .mpeg and .wmv are what I prefer. Although if you post up a movie of GR2 I'd load up anything.
Zantar45 0
Just about anything is good with me- mpg, mpeg, wmv divX,avi.... EXCEPT Quicktime. Nothing but pain in the ass problems I get with QT. File size doesnt matter to me... Edited May 11, 2004 by Zantar45
PATRI0T 0
I guess that more people would prefer Windows Media Player instead of QuickTime simply because more people have WMP. Patriot
BlueRose_76 0
As for being a mac user i have occasionally probs with wmv's. But if the need is there (and sure it is for GR2) ill find my way around. Size isnt a problem for me. Keep them coming

Rocky 1,224
Also, anyone care how big the download is? Our GR1 E3 video was 45MB. 450Mb, I'd still download it
WhiteKnight77 1
How about Bink? I'm with Dannik here. I made a Bink movie that was less than 6MB from an uncompressed 130MB file. The players and compression tools are free from the link that Dannik provided.
supasniper 0
holy crap, 6mb from 130... please go with that or at least let some one least put it up in that format for us 56kers
