Nah hes not right! Never! You can set it up so the AI never crouches down and stuff with IGOR im told. As for effecting other people etc, it doesnt at all there are no new animations or bone structures involved. Simply all you do Is create the model, and the same as a CHR attach it and all, the skill comes in making the right parts in the right envolpe, so that the legs move with the leg bones etc. In SST the bugs work so that the front right and back left leg move to the right leg and the opposite for the other leg. Its quite good, except if you crouch etc. But if you want the player to use it its a whole world more pain!

Hmm, could be but he wouldn't be "sitting" but standing above the ground. Also the legs of the horse wouldn't move since it's an attachment and when the flying guy would walk the horse would move about like an attachment

Alright here is what I have so far:

legs01.jpg

legs02.jpg

I'm using a plane for each side, and hoping to use an animated rsb to simulate the legs moving. Problems:

1. For some reason I can't see the backside of the leg, as in the 2nd picture, I can't see the left "side".

2. I'm going to use alpha-textured leg movement pictures (just show the legs moving and not the entire plane). How many does the engine let you have? I think in GR it uses 4 but if I could use more it would be a lot better. Any ideas?

Looks pretty good mate, get any easier to texture that beast after I turned it into one mesh?

and for your questions

1: Really 2 ways of doing that mate. Either set the texture you are going to use as 2-sided....or just clone eash sides "leg", flip its Normals and attach to the original "leg"

2: I don't think there is a limit to how many different textures you can use in an animated one. Pretty easy to set one up with the RSB editor.

Yeah it definitely became easier now, thanks :D

As far as the texture and alpha-channels...I figure I can draw the leg animations and place them in different .rsbs...as far as I understand alphachannels the rest of the texture needs to be blacked out somehow and then layered with an alpha channel? I'm not sure how it works and I don't think my photo editting program has that capacity. Any ideas?

oh, and how do i set the texture as 2 sided? :)
