en4rcment
stormcrow....you trouble-maker..... well..I'll bite.... Being from the US..I definitely think that US special forces are the best..with Navy Seals, and Green Berets, being at the top of my list....but I have heard very good things about the British SAS..and am fairly certain that they are just as good as their US counterparts...I was reading about a hostage rescue mission they did..and was very impressed..plus..I think I heard that US snipers attend a training session offered by the SAS...because their snipers are top-notch. Lastly, I'm pretty sure the US special forces and the SAS will be working very closely in the near future in some middle-eastern country.... Go get 'em boys!!!! xG5kdo
Of course the Mega High Speed Super SWAT Smooth Operator Power Rangers Battalion (Airborne)!!!!! Although if Budgie is here, he might have a different opinion. Out.
Stalker_Zero
Who has or what is the best special forces team?? Well thats easy.......(oh no here he goes again).......that would be my team. I am the leader of this special forces team that is kept off the books so to speak. Very hush huh. shhhhhhhh. We are only activated when there is no other option and the world is about to blow up or something. We are better than: SAS GSG-9 GIGN Delta Force U.S. Rangers Green Berets Black Berets Purple Berets U.S. Navy's Devgru L.A.P.D Swat F.B.I.'s HRT granny's bingo club at the nursing home Those guys secretly cringe in awe when my team is even whispered about. We are so secret we don't even have a name. We have all been genetically engineered from test tubes to be the best super soldiers. We use composite microscopic modular body armor with the latest integrated life support systems. Offensive weaponry include the latest directed energy weapons with multi-spectrum capabilities Our weapons can be set to repulsating particle beams one minute....then to say.....xray beams for urban combat. Imagine using our advaced integrated sensor/enhanced sight system to spot someone behind a walll. On xray beams we can take out a subject through several floors or walls without destroying the structure. We also have caseless solid projectile explosive tip bullet launching weapons with extreme destructive capability. Robotic munititions that fly around till they find an intended target are also in our arsenal. communications are to the point where voices are not needed. All orders are transmitted and acknoledged cybernetically. I shouldn't have said all this. Now I am tempted to track down anybody who have read this post and eliminate them. stormcrow
I see the little fishies have bitten.......I wonder if it will be nearly as hot as the last one where Chris Chool and Pyro had a right old go at each other.........(Sartilllies knows what Im talking about.) 1- Android/Cyborg type soldier guys............phww.......... yeah...... sure.......(.but err........no need to track me down ....and errr......'eliminate me....') 2- I'd say delta and the SAS would have strengths in different areas, but could be evenly matched. (The IDF have a strong shout also - those chaps dont mess around). 3 - Grannies and bingo halls arent even in the picture.......altho seeing them going into battle screaming 'house' would be mildly amusing...... Stalker_Zero
I didn't necessarily said my guys were cyborgs. Just that they use alot of cybernetically integrated systems. Besides, in a few years when the U.S. gets their "Objective Force" up and running. I won't seem so silly then. stormcrow
I see..........not cyborgs...........but, 'cybernetically integrated'. Sounds good to me. Still the bingo grannies would take'em. Edited January 9, 2003 by stormcrow
budgie
I should take this opportunity to remind you that Al Qaeda are indeed the finest fighting unit on the planet. Heroically defending their Taliban allies, they fled to the hills of afghanistan even before the first B52 rolled over. There they 'regrouped' while the Taliban were eradicated and patiently waited for the US to arrive, afraid to even peep out of their holes. After bravely surrendering their mountain strongholds to allied forces, the high command, headed by their fearless leader Osama "The Coward" Bin Laden, executed a stunning tactical retreat - slipping across the border into pakistan on mules, by night and disguised as women. In the process, the rearguard, instead of being slaughtered to a man, managed to sieze the american Naval installation at Guantanamo bay, where they still maintain a sizeable 'garrison'. Bin Laden himself remains nowhere to be found. He is said to be biding his time, pretending to be dead and hiding under the bed at his Mom's house. The remainder of these fearless warriors are said to be even now regrouping and preparing for their final assault on the west, by shaving their beards, laying down their weapons and scattering to the far corners of the Earth. Sgt_Garrick
First of all, I finally made it to this forum. Second, excluding the military, my opinion states the LAPD SWAT as the best SF group in the world. Now the military. I do not think one SF group is "better" than another. Each group has their own role in combat. Can we say that the USN S.E.A.L.s is better than the US Army Green Beret? I answer no for the fact that they are used for different situations. Now if someone wants to give me a situation, than that would be different. Peace out.
Tollen
The best of the best is definetly the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment. They are supposed to have trained many different SF in the world, plus that DELTA is supposed to be a clone )

JTF-2
ya, those parakeets sure kicked some ###### back in the day (of the old forums). what about JTF-2 (joint task force two) Canada's elite military unit? *yes i know this argument is futile but it's still amusing*
Avey
The Special Boat Service would get my vote followed by the SAS. The SBS helped set up the Navy SEALS and they also pioneered maritime counter terrorism. All snipers in NATO countries are trained at the SBS Headquaters in Poole. Been British doesn't make me bias or anything but the British army and British special forces are the best in the world.
Stalker_Zero
What that verrrrrry specialized U.S. Air Force SF unit that is made up of operators from all the other SF branches in the U.S. military. I forget the name. They specialize in missions that would in some way benefit the Air Force. For instance, taking over an air field. The Air Force wouldn't have to ask say....a navy seal team to go in and do the job because they have their own in-house unit. Stuff like that. Anybody know of any operators belonging to that unit?? budgie
Aah the parakeets. Since being de-commissioned, a few more have wound up in Chinese restaurants. Last I heard a large number of them went to Canada on a veteran's peace exchange to meet the canucks they had fought. Some of them took up hockey but ended up being used as pucks. budgie
The guy has four wives which means four Mothers-in-law. I would make him st down with them and explain why he had to drag their daughters off to live in some Afghan cave.
Dark Ranger
The guy has four wives which means four Mothers-in-law. I would make him st down with them and explain why he had to drag their daughters off to live in some Afghan cave. What? Are you talking? GSG-9 22nd SAS SEAL's Delta Rangers 160th SOAR Green Berets SBS IDF...get my point? Every special forces group is important to the military of their respective countries. To say that "such and such" a group is better or "this unit" performs better is just not right, and every soldier in these elite units had to go through the most difficult strain and stress put on a human body. They all deserve our respect... Just my thoughts...
supasniper
too right mate! the british have been at war some where around the globe at any given time since the middle ages also the SBS are slightly above the SAS in their own field as they do the same training a selection then go on to do thier own specialized training. KillerKane
Best Special Forces? Well that's like trying to choose the best athletes from a group of Olympic gold medalists. I wouldn't want to be fighting any of the SFs from the Western countries. These men spend years training for war and take their jobs very seriously. But some poor dumb ###### try, and wind up quite dead or captured as a result. Remember too that these units routinely visit and cross-train with the opposite numbers in other countries (i.e. Delta visits SAS), so the quality spreads across the board. This is of enormous benefit to smaller SOFs. I think the US SOCOM and British Special Forces have the edge. They are integrated with other more specialized units, like the 160th SOAR and the RAF Special Forces. With their own aircraft, signals units, Civil Affairs, and medical units, US and UK forces are more flexibility and capable than other units, like Germany's KSK, Canada's JTF-2, Australia and New Zealand's SAS, etc. These other units are extremely capable but limited in what they can do. Canada's JTF-2 was originally meant as a SWAT team, but has expanded into a capable SOF, as Afghanistan has proven. However they could not have operated there without US help. Still, they and others are excellent allies and the world is better off having them around.
elpatricio
Just look at all the Special Forces teams that make up Rainbow and there's your list of the best in the world, all good at different things just like the operatives, and when you stick em together u get the ultimate SF team
Viper
I would have to say that S.E.A.L. team 6, SOFD-D, and the SAS are the best, with GSG-9, KSK, and GIGN close behind CLARK
