Xalarth 0
I've got a new question... I may have read it somewhere before, but I cant remember where. I have gone over the tutorial for making a skin for a character, but I forgot if you need only 3 layers - the base camo, wrinkles, and misc. stuff such as the webbing, or does each 'item' have to have its own seperate layer? if not, does the amount of layers a skin has make it so you can't make it show up on a custom character? Thanks for your time
tmichc 6
Not quite sure what you're trying to ask, but I shall try and give you the answer I hope you're looking for. When you create a custom skin, whilst you're editing it, it can have as many layers as you like, so, wrinkles, base camo, webbing, boots, helmet, gloves, etc can be seperate layers. The rsb plugin in photoshop (assuming you are using Photoshop) is used for the export (one of the file types in the Save As... dialogue) to make it show up in-game. An rsb file has one layer only, the plugin merges all of the layers into one. For example, say I create a guy wearing a snazzy blue and red camo print, based on Henry Ramirez. So, I have one layer for the flat blue/red camo, another layer for the wrinkles, another for the Ramirez webbing, a pair of boots, gloves, and a helmet. All in all this can be as many as 6 layers. Now, I go up and in the 'File' menu, choose 'Save As...'. I scroll through the file types until I reach rsb. I save it as 'psycadelic.rsb'. In the options screen that flashes up I choose to save with R8G8B8 parameters. I then close the file, saying 'No' when it asks if I want to save the changes. Then, I go back up into the File menu, and select 'Open'. I find my recently saved rsb and double-click it. It opens up, and is a single-layer, the plugin has merged everything down for me. Hope this makes it clearer. Tim
