UV Mapping VIDEO Tutorial

Recommended Posts

Cool tutorial but one question for the experts...Whats the point of detaching and flatting out the polys if u can simply use "Flatten Mapping" from "Edit UVWs" and export it with Texporter with same result? Or am i missing something here? :stupid:

Always pleasure to help you fellow modellers.

The typing approach is just awesome isn't it? Why to waste space with sound :D

How about to make it sticky? Simply for a reason that it's quite comprehensive and nicely done video tut. But I'll leave the final judgement on admins here indeed.

don't think so, i have been using a similar technique lately but haven't detached one face!

no problem m8! i did some more reading on the subject and the one advantage i can find for detaching the faces is you can keep track of all the faces before you export them using the texporter plugin.

ROFLAMO  My favourite part is when he's typing in Notepad..."some of the polygons might go a stray....delete delete, might go crazy and wild":lol::D

LMAO, unusual technique that. He could have paused the recording, typed the message, then started recording, that way you would just see the finished message and not all the typing and mistakes.

I see he is a member of the same school as me, even if you make a mistake with only the first letter of a word, you backspace through the whole word and delete it all and start again, rather than just correct the first letter LOL!

That's the only way to do it. Isn't it? :D
