Well I had a bad year last year with a lot of ups and downs. I made such good money in 2002 that I though the party would last forever.

But then SARS came and the bottom fell out of English conversation classes. The company was hard up for cash and paid us late almost all of the last 12 months. I was supposed to have a portion of my pay put into a mandatory savings fund and matched by the company; well, they took my share every month but never even opened an account and now owe me over US$2,000.

So I finally got word from al the jobs I applied for last year and now everyone wants me. I am working as the in-house business English coach for a major international company here in HK - designing courses and programs about 5,000 staff in HK and China. It's a good job, low pressure and nice pay, but I just got a call from Emirates.

Emirates is the fastest growing airline in the world and consistently in the top three. I've been through preliminary selection (only 6 out of twenty made it) and have a final interview tomorrow. If I get the job I'll be off to Dubai for 5 weeks training before getting my wings. Then I'll be a fully fledged Flight Attendant.

Cool huh? So if I get it they'll put me up in an apartment and pay me well and send me all over the world. I don't need to mention the fringe benefits (stewardesses!).

Therefore there is a strong chance I won't be around much any more. I'll try and finish my five mission Long Haul campaign before leaving (though I get disenchanted with IGOR at times). I simply won't have the time to log in when I'm flying 80 hours a month and staying in foreign hotels, etc. But while I will have to scale back, you may still see me once in a while.

Mate, you career change is what I'm looking for for myself. I'm really happy for you.

I can assure you that having a laptop it's very easy to decide to stay in the hotel and mod. Also my job takeme very often in the hotels and on those cases for me it's easier to play than when I'm at home :P

Good luck
