Sup 0
I recently played the PCgamer demo of PAINKILLER, and was quite surprised. As someone who's favorite game is ghost recon, I didn't expect to like a shooter this mindless. And believe me, it is mindless. I'm sure most of you have played DOOM. Painkiller is doom made modern. Every great thing doom has, painkiller has plus an amazing physics engine, great enemies, and huge floods of foes.... Remember that time in doom where you step into a room, and suddenly a wall opens up, revealing dozens of foes? Painkiller has that kind of thing. Remember that time in doom where you open a door, and there, right in front of you, is a weak, but still startling enemy? Painkiller has that kind of thing. Remember that time in doom where you're walking up the staircase full of exploding barrels, when, suddenly, melee enemies start to flood down, shoving that barrels, (and their own dead) tumbling down the stairs in an amazing fashion? Well, maybe that wasn't in doom, but it is in painkiller. This game also has the best ragdolls I've ever seen. I give this demo an 9/10. Because the first level in it has 250+ enemies in it. And the second: one enemy over 20X your size. With an even bigger weapon. **EDIT** It seems painkiller has also affected my ability to form coherent sentences. Sorry. Sup 0
Screens: This shows off the basic concept of Pankiller's combat: (boom) Getting hit by this melee-based enemy will cause your vision to blur: This game has some very nice ragdolling: Even in chaotic combats, it's important not to lose your head: This weapon is a combination minigun rocket launcher: The ragdolls interact amazingly. These two are propped up against each other, and the still living enemy behind them (you can see his head): The lighting is great, even at my low, shadow-free settings. Most settings are at low or medium in those shots. This game 0wns.
