Desert Siege pickup truck

Recommended Posts

I tried to modify the DS pickup truck by repainting it's RSB file, but found out my modifications didn't show up in the game. Then, I ran the truck's .pob file through Skinner, and found out the game was using a BMP file instead of the RSB you would expect it to use. There are two problems : First one is that I simply can't find that BMP file anywhere, even thought the game is using it. Second one is, I used Skinner to tell GR to use the RSB instead of the BMP, but even though I made the switch, and that both Skinner and the POB file confirm that I am using the RSB file, the game still displays the old unchanged texture. Does anyone know what's the problem? I know I ran through a couple of mods and found out that Wolfsong's Swedish Forces had a repainted version of the pickup truck, but I'll be damned if I know how he did so... <_< Thanks!

Hi, ok even although it says .bmp in the skinner util it uses the .rsb with the same filename. So If it says... picture.bmp there will be a picture.rsb in the textures folder. Even if you reskin the vehicle and create a .vcl file directing it to the changed .pob etc... it still effects the original vehicle.

Change the skin and put it in your mod textures folder thats the easiest way.

Hope this helps.

If you texture a model with a bmp and then put this in game with the bmp in the texture folder gr automatically makes it an RSB. Just use the skinner to apply the .rsb texture to the model instead of the rsb one.
