snared_gambit 0
The high res version of this is much more exciting, but I've just been working on this for a few days, snippets at a time. Any opinions or requests?
Tommy35 0
Look's good to me. Maybe add a light to go with the CQB theme?
Sp3ctre 0
You could make it look like the ones used in SWAT: The Movie.
standalone 0
That looks really good, I was wanting an M4 cqb/SD. I agree about the tac. light. I would definitely rock that gun.
swifty 0
perhaps collapse the stock?
Private B 0
perhaps collapse the stock? why would you do that?
swifty 0
can be easy to work with in tight spaces.. particularly when you're handling it with both vertical grips, and moving it back and forth a lot. just makes it that much more compact. eye clearance isn't an issue due to the scout style aimpoint mounting.. EricJ 0
Nah, I've cleared rooms with it full open, and never had any problems with moving around. It's just a matter of style and preference.
F'n New Guy 0
looks good gambit, u should put a peq2 on it near the front site, collaps the stock, put a nv sight on top of it, just slide the aimpoint back towards you and put the nv sight in front of it and slap a flashlight on the side rail. well u know what i mean. swifty 0
yeah it really is just preference. just suggested collapsed stock as a possibility for variance. I've seen the idf use it that way, and they do mas cqb..
SealTeam6 0
Can't please everybody
GRT 0
Can't please everybody well if you hold a m4 with the stock extended youll notice you have to bring the gun down peak a conrner and left it back up..if the stocks in then you can fit in the way and have your gun up while you peak the coner(thats real life not GR)..atleast thats how i do it
Argyll 1
It's a method used in CQB called "short stocking"
swifty 0
there ya go
EricJ 0
Can't please everybody well if you hold a m4 with the stock extended youll notice you have to bring the gun down peak a conrner and left it back up..if the stocks in then you can fit in the way and have your gun up while you peak the coner(thats real life not GR)..atleast thats how i do it Or alternately you can peek around the corner with the weapon pointing in the direction you're looking at. Seen it done quite successfully with an M16, or you can do a Hi-Lo drill where you have two people jump out, weapons pointed out, and clear a corner that way. Then again, short stocking also places a little more strain on the elbows if you stay prone for awhile. There's always a way to do something different.
SnowFella 8
It always depends on what instructor and weapon system you are using in determining what cqb teqnique you are taught. With a weapon based on the AR design collapsing the stock might be suggested to make it shorter and easier to handle, as for the AK5 I used during my service it was pretty common to fold the stock totally and go to FA mode when in cqb conditions. Worked pretty well for me although I trained in how to do it with the stock extended too, just makes it alittle harder to navigate tight corners that's all. btw, model looks good mate! EricJ 0
True, but usually it's how you are used to moving around. While it's beneficial to short stock it, I'm pretty sure the zero changes (and I'm not a cop, so I don't have the luxury of going back to the station, I have to deal with any other threats that may come up on the street as well.) depending on position, even though in all actuality you are shooting front sight post anyways. But I've had some success last night with short stocking. I tried it out, by putting my M4's stock in the first position, removed the Aimpoint, and then flipped up my back up iron sights. Made it lighter, and almost like an HK53, and makes searching cars alot easier too.
Gen.Montgomery 0
It looks great!! How about adding a PVS-14 mounted in front of an Aimpoint. Like what Bruce Willis' M4 in Tears of the Sun.
EricJ 0
Nope, it was behind the Aimpoint. The Aimpoint has 10 settings, first one is Off, the next four are for NVG, and the rest daytime/nighttime. Course I use a Comp M2. Remember Bruce Willis is left handed.
