CME4WHOIAM 0
Do you think that GR needs a version 1.5 patch. with version 1.2 and the comming out of version 1.4 has made a big diffrence in playing GR online. But yet 1.4 doesn't seem to have some basic problems fixed out of it. for example on some maps there is railing near stairs and on upper levels You spot an enemy at the railing and fire at him. The only thing that happens is that he has found out that you are firing at him. At some key spots on the maps bullets or grenades do not go through th railings. Not even where there is gaps between them. Also goign prone in some well know and seemingly important defenses spots give unfair problems. GR for some reason doesn't detect any body parts for a distance making the person almost invincable. Same with peeking at certain spots on the map. You have a guy traped in a room. He has no sensors and has no clue where you are. You get ready to side step across the door when on the other side the guy sees the end of your gun and hand. Giving your postion away. those are just a few of the examples i have that need to be fixed. Not including the other 20 plus main glitches. so what is your opionion. Does GR need a new patch? Sart 34
It would be nice, but RSE hasn't even said the word "GR" in quite some time. I'd rather have them working on GR2.

Sart 34
Pffft, console, ###### is that? I call them coasters.
Csmith_Fan 0
GR doesnt need a new patch. The aforementioned "complaints" about "bugs" are really misunderstood examples of realism...like how going prone (vs stnading up facing the enemy and waving a bright orange vest around) makes you a smaller target, etc.. What it does need though is maybe another expansion for the PC and not just a console game.... ...unless some really talented mod makers out there are at this very moment converting the "PS2 Only" maps to PC-able.... Ok before you complain about not being able to shot between railings, what range are we talking about, what weapon, and what type of railings? I have personaly seen military snipers (real ones not computer models) unable to shoot through railings at some distances with some weapon systems. On the other hand I have seen these same snipers drive thumb tacks that I can't even see with a spotting scope at far longer ranges with the right weapon for the job. As for going prone, it is a well documented fact that you can't shoot what you can't see. I think the designers of GR did an outstanding job of adding this bit of realism. Most of the other FPS games I have played don't even have the ability to go prone. As for the last glitch you mentioned if you are referring to the old hand throught the wall then I do have to agree with you, try syepping back from the wall or just frag the room, ***coughCScough***. If you are reffering to seeing your hand and weapon as you stand at the door frame tring to by sure he is in the room, welll there is not much I can say there except, in the immortal words of the great Homer Simpson, doh!! In closing, yes there are some gliches but do you want to spend your time trying to find them or playing the game? Edited March 20, 2004 by Doc

Hey...just because I like to clear rooms out with an AT4 at almost very damn close range doesnt make me psychotic..... ...did I just think that out loud?
The_Slink 0
Some of it could be on the map: railings are a solid plane with alpha gaps? It could be good for another patch though. Another expansion.... Where? How do you survive AT4 blasts at close range?
Avey 0
It would be nice to get the "Shadow Man" bug fixed.

Where? How do you survive AT4 blasts at close range? Slinks right, they have cut the poly count by say in the bank the railings round the top are only 8 polys, instead of 1000 if it was individual bars etc. But I think they tagged some railings in the game as not colliadable so bullets go through them. Hence why when Doc (when we have a LAN get together with other people) sees someone running around with an SVD and an AT4 he goes waaaayyyyyy over ------------------------------------------------------>>>>there

Most of the other FPS games I have played don't even have the ability to go prone. I'm not talking the metal railing. I'm talkign about the gaps between them. like say the railing is reprsented by | and the space between the railing is represent by 2 spaces ______ | | | | if the bullets hit the metal pole it will make a bullet hole. If u shot at the gaps between the railing hin air it hits it and makes a bullet hole. Doesnt matter what gun or distance bullets wont go through the gaps between the metal bars about prone im talking about all the glitches that involeved form goign prone. your head can be sticking out im mid air and u can kill people people but if u get shot in the head witch is exposed bullets go straight through it and doesnt kill u. the only ways u can die is if. a) u are shot from behind, if a guy gets close enough over u that they see the rest of your body or a well placed nade. as for your last statment In closing, yes there are some gliches but do you want to spend your time trying to find them or playing the game? anwser is simple both
Rocky 1,224
Do you think that GR needs a version 1.5 patch. Does it matter? There will never be one!
Deadpreacher 2
The one bug that always mad me mad was on the Embassy stairs. No one can shot you and you can't shot out of the railings on them stairs! But hey from what i heard GR2 is in the mix so i could really care less about GR1 getting fixxed any more than it is! KRP 56 92
No patches needed. Heck they might think GR is trying to catch up with the MOTHER of all PATCHES Raven Shield.

I'm talkign about the gaps between them. like say the railing is reprsented by | and the space between the railing is represent by 2 spaces What doc and chems are saying, is that instead of creating lots of little single railings (like this : I I I I I I I I I I I), they just a big long sheet, and colour in the railings, leaving transparent gaps between them. So it looks like it is clear, but it is actually solid, like a wall or arnie. Does it matter? There will never be one! whoah, cranky.
