Sgt.Crocodile 0
I want to improve the original weapons accuracy a little bit...not too much, but enough. Avey 0
I want to improve the original weapons accuracy a little bit...not too much, but enough. This is the M16 gun file: <GunFile> <RunCrouchAccuracy>750</RunCrouchAccuracy> <RunProneAccuracy>400</RunProneAccuracy> <WalkStandAccuracy>50</WalkStandAccuracy> <WalkCrouchAccuracy>100</WalkCrouchAccuracy> <WalkProneAccuracy>400</WalkProneAccuracy> <ShuffleStandAccuracy>30</ShuffleStandAccuracy> <ShuffleCrouchAccuracy>60</ShuffleCrouchAccuracy> <ShuffleProneAccuracy>45</ShuffleProneAccuracy> <StationaryStandAccuracy>10</StationaryStandAccuracy> <StationaryCrouchAccuracy>8</StationaryCrouchAccuracy> <StationaryProneAccuracy>5</StationaryProneAccuracy> </GunFile> What can be done here to improve the accuracy? Thanks in advance.... The writing above shows how far apart the rets move at different positions the soldier takes. The small the number, the less the movement. Meaning for a more precise shot. dekela 0
<ReticulePipBaseOffset>5</ReticulePipBaseOffset> reduce this number to improve first shot accuracy <Recoil>50</Recoil> reduce this toreduce the amount the pip's open, improve's auto fire <StabilizationTime>0.2</StabilizationTime> reduce to make the pip's close faster, improves follow up shot's and what avey said cheers...... Gen.Montgomery 0
<Recoil>50</Recoil> <RunStandAccuracy>500</RunStandAccuracy> <RunCrouchAccuracy>750</RunCrouchAccuracy> <RunProneAccuracy>400</RunProneAccuracy> <WalkStandAccuracy>50</WalkStandAccuracy> <WalkCrouchAccuracy>100</WalkCrouchAccuracy> <WalkProneAccuracy>400</WalkProneAccuracy> <ShuffleStandAccuracy>30</ShuffleStandAccuracy> <ShuffleCrouchAccuracy>60</ShuffleCrouchAccuracy> <ShuffleProneAccuracy>45</ShuffleProneAccuracy> <StationaryStandAccuracy>10</StationaryStandAccuracy> <StationaryCrouchAccuracy>8</StationaryCrouchAccuracy> <StationaryProneAccuracy>5</StationaryProneAccuracy> Change the numbers to smaller denominations, i remember doing that to my rifles. Recoil = 15 and the rest to 1. Even the AI operatives with me in single player doesn't miss a single shot. It's great and it's fun, but it takes out all the realism in the game. Basically, recoil, accuracy and stabilization time. As you can see, I haven't bottomed everything so as to provide what I think is a good balance. I hope this helps. Parabellum 12
Reticle Pip Base has nothing to do with accuracy. It simply tells you how close the pips on screen will close. The on-screen pips don't directly affect accuracy at all.
Tommy35 0
Para's right. I remember a certain M4 that had what I consider poor full auto accuracy. I cranked all the apporpriate value's down but turned the recoil down to 25. The pip's weren't closing fast enough so I went to 10 and voila, now I could write my name with it . Like I said, recoil , accuracy and stabilization time value's down and look out!
budgie 1
This is the way if you want to but I find the guns accurate enough and the enemy ones too accurate. Rather than trying to improve your weapon's accuracy you might want to consider raising the numbers on enemy weapons to devcrease theirs. It reduces the "how did he do that?" headshots from raw Russian recruits at 500 paces, and increases the length of firefights. It also makes up for some of the slowness and stupidity of the friendly AI. I find that with the enemy weapons' accuracy lowered it increases realism. You'll still get hit if you don't look out, but the firefights are long, with lots of lead flying just like you read about in books like Black Hawk Down. Try Droopy's Enemy Realism mod for some ready made alterations.
Scarecrow 0
if you look at the enemies, they certainly have a disadvantage to begin with with accuracy and recoil, also the majority of them have low weapons scores, which also contributes to their poor shooting... however everyone hates that olympic marksman shot so what i did was to adjust their weapons even worse by a factor of 5-7 points, and increased recoil by another 10, and left the other weapons, the PC weapons unadjusted. if you make yours better AND the enemies worse, then all of a sudden the game is a a breeze even on elite (except for those damned tank-walking missions) it also helps to adjust the weapons turn bands and recoil/return speeds by optics with red-dots and reflex sights being super fast but not accurate long range, and with scopes being slower on both counts hope this helps
Gen.Montgomery 0
<Recoil>15</Recoil> <RunStandAccuracy>5</RunStandAccuracy> <RunCrouchAccuracy>5</RunCrouchAccuracy> <RunProneAccuracy>5</RunProneAccuracy> <WalkStandAccuracy>3</WalkStandAccuracy> <WalkCrouchAccuracy>3</WalkCrouchAccuracy> <WalkProneAccuracy>3</WalkProneAccuracy> <ShuffleStandAccuracy>2</ShuffleStandAccuracy> <ShuffleCrouchAccuracy>2</ShuffleCrouchAccuracy> <ShuffleProneAccuracy>2</ShuffleProneAccuracy> <StationaryStandAccuracy>1</StationaryStandAccuracy> <StationaryCrouchAccuracy>1</StationaryCrouchAccuracy> <StationaryProneAccuracy>1</StationaryProneAccuracy> Change the old/basic stats to this. WARNING:It takes out the realism and intensity of the game.
Tommy35 0
The setting's that I posted above will greatly increase accuracy while still providing realism. Your weap won't be laser accurate but you will definately be able to put rounds on target at realistic ranges. Try it out, if you don't like it you can always change them back. Happy hunting! Sgt.Crocodile 0
This thread is gold.....thanks a lot guys!!!!!!
Tommy35 0
Just curious, which way did you go? Your weap's down, or enemy's up? I haven't tried enemy's down. P.S. I think this website is gold! I've got to find someone with high speed access though, all the great mod's would take me day's to DL
Parabellum 12
I personally go with making enemy weapons less accurate/longer to stabilize. I think that would better reflect realistic expectations.
Tommy35 0
IMO, a Green Beret should have no trouble hitting a target out to say 60 yards, give or take,on full auto and be able to get 20-25 hits out of a 30 rd. mag. I could be way off on this , but I don't think so. I think the differing opinions in this thread take two different roads to get to the same place, leveling the playing field.Isn't lowering one or raising the other still creating the same effect? I guess it's up to the individual, his/her personal tastes. P.S. I still think my way is better than yours
