BlueRose_76 0
Now i learned color management for digital photography the hard way, im up for the next hurdle; color management on the web. What to do to make sure that the picture i put on a site looks the same on other monitors/for other visitors? Is there a norm, or color profile for web-use? Do, for example, browers recognise profiles?
Dannik 43
Browsers do not parse the ICC profiles, unfortunately. You can certainly include the ICC data with an image, but they won't parse over the web. They will if embedded, downloaded, and viewed on the desktop of the viewer. There are Windows standards, Mac standards, as well as various independant standards. This PDF will give you the overview.
BlueRose_76 0
Thanks, atleast thats some concrete information. (In my search for the ultimate knowledge i also bumped in the consortium site. But every time i read it, and especially when the term 'cielab' came along, i got a bit light in the head and had the urge to look through any window nearby.)
Cpl Ledanek 247
Dpreview.com is a site for Digital Camera and related items. This is where I did my reading and research on buying my first digital camera---Epson 3000Z (discontinued) because this camera matches my Epson 750 printer (also discontinued). There is a forum there you post your questions. Great ppl, both experts and novice. Read enough and ppl's name starts getting familiar. Some are members of NAPP (Photoshop experts, I call them). Warning: Some might sell you a product (Spider-something)that calibrates your monitor. The only thing about this product I warn you about is the PRICE. If you can somehow get it reimbursed, I say, I wish I was in your shoes--or sandals. so stop by goodluck Addt'l info here: spyder forum---about color management
