Windows 2003 Server??????

Recommended Posts

AFZ server is on win 2003. it works great. 1st thing is make sure you have the minimum video card requirements in it. next go to the video and turn on hardware acceleration, it's off by default in win2003, next enable the sound in the control panel. Should work fine after that....

When I run DxDiag the options to Enable DirectDraw, Direct 3D Acceleration, and AGP Texture Acceleration are grayed out. My video card is a Radeon 9000 Series 128 MB. What should I do? Is there newer drivers for my video card for 2003 Server, I check the ATI website and couldn't find any for 2003 Server. At this point Im clueless.

I'm assuming that you have already enabled hardware acceleration at this point.

From an unofficial FAQ:

To enable Direct X, you must first enable graphics acceleration. To do this, right click on the desktop and go to Properties, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting, and set the Hardware acceleration bar to Full.

To activate Direct3D and DirectDraw (DirectX), go to Start/Run and type "dxdiag". Click OK. Click on the Display tab, then click on the Enable button for DirectDraw and Direct3d.

Also, ATi does not support any graphics chipset other than Rage XL on W2k3. Windows Update is the official driver source for all other ATi cards for your OS.

I don't know if any of this is going to be helpful, as W2k3 Server was never intended for personal use or gaming, whether serving or client. It may work, but not by design.

EDIT: Glad you got it working.
