budgie 1
Just found a copy of teh Mucho Macho edition of Tropico in the bargain bin and snapped it up. I remember the countless hours of tongue in cheek dictatorship three years ago. It's still a blast. For anyone who hasn't played it - it's like sim city on a Caribbean Island where you are El Presidente. You can be a benign democrat or a vicious tyrant or anywhere in between as you struggle to modernize your country (Tropico) in the latter half of the 20th century. Not very PC, but what a hoot. One of my finest gaming moments (aside from getting carjacked whilst kerb-crawling for hookers in GTA3) was when my presidential advisor told me back in 2001, "Mr President, the people's hatred for you knows no bounds!" budgie 1
What are the differences in the Mucho Macho version? Tropico comes with predesigned scenarios, as well as an open ended, random Island generator. Much Macho has more scenarios, plus added content - new buildings, a few new character types (like spring-break tourists) and new music. However it does seem geared more towards building a tourist industry as most of the new builkdings/content are hotels and attractions.
Pyro_Monty 0
Okay, cool. I played the original Tropico endlessly for a few days a while back and I might reinstall it with Mucho Macho, if I can find it. New music... phew! Thank God! That soundtrack became so repetitive!
