firefly2442 0
Ok so I changed my resolution today to 1600x1200 and it's pretty cool. I had to change the DPI to 120 so I can actually read stuff. Even now, it's a little hard. With IE, can I change it so that webpages don't just go down in a little column? It's kinda hard to read.... Next, are there any tools out there that do the same kind of thing as "ipconfig" with renew release and all that? Anything built into Windows XP? Thanks for the help. Dannik 43
ipconfig is still there with XP, except it's a command line program now. It is possible to 'borrow' the Win2k GUI client, which works under XP. Google for it, and you'll find resources. For XP's native, {Start} -> run -> cmd C:\ipconfig <- IP info C:\ipconfig /release C:\ipconfig /renew TechTV offers a little more insight into the command line variant. firefly2442 0
I have another question. In Eudora when I try sending an email to someone outside the college campus address.... it gives me an error, "relaying denied. IP Name Lookup Failed".... what does that mean and how can I fix it? I tried googling for people with similar problems and it seems to be an issue with SMTP authentication? I tried another email client and it had the same issue so it must be some setting that's wrong. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch.
Dannik 43
My first thought is that the outgoing email server doesn't recognise you. I don't use Eudora, but the error sounds familiar. Perhaps there is an option to authenticate to the SMTP server that you can configure? There is also the slim chance that your email addy tied to the school is not a POP3 addy, but an internal (Exchange server, for example) address that is not valid outside of your LAN. firefly2442 0
The address should be valid outside the local LAN. I'll check out the options some more.
