IzzyEddy 0
What is up with this stuff ....... I am running Canadian Ops V2, Frostbite V1.3 and DS & IT as mods. I am playing single player CO2, board #2 and after a few minutes of getting killed and going back in, it crashes to the desktop. I have the latest drivers for video card, right from Nvidia website and it still crashes. This is something that has just started as I have been running GR, DS & IT for almost 1 1/2 years now with no problems. Every since I started with these other mods and a critical update for the video from Microsoft have I been crashing. Below is the Ike.log, IkeCrash.Log and the DirectX information. If I have missed something please tell me before the computer goes out my window and trust me, it will not survive the fall. If it is something to do with the video drivers, how can I go backwards on a driver. I have never done that before, never really had to. Thanks, Dean ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ike.log ------------------------------------------------------------------- ***** User's system configuration ***** CPU: GenuineIntel 1793 MHz Pentium 4 RAM: 512 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 1 build 2600 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Creating a 1024x768 window at 0,0 on monitor Dell E772c attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Game running on primary display Dell E772c attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 HAL (hw vp): NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 R5G6B5 RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.tga RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.rsb Unable to find ike_fx_fire_type2.tga anywhere. Crimson 0
Well, if it just started when you activated CO2 and FB... Try deactivating FB. If you had FB activated when you created your CO2 campaign, you'll probably have to start over.
IzzyEddy 0
Ok, this is probably going to be a stupid question but I am just getting started on this downloadable mod stuff. When I downloaded these, I just installed them as a normal program like any other software. I went into GR as each one was installed, activated it and made sure that they worked correctly. Other than some small graphics problems in the options menu on Frostbite, everything has worked fine. Should I make sure that the only mods that GR has activated is DS & IT ???? I have been bringing two other buddies along with me as we all play Multiplayer off of my computer all the time so if I had the new mods then they had have them too. They have not been having this problem but then again, they don't play single player as much as I do. I didn't think it would make a difference how they were installed or does it ??????? Keep the comments coming !!!!! Thanks again, Dean Edited February 18, 2004 by IzzyEddy
ZJJ 74
Mods need to be installed into the Mods folder of Ghost Recon. Some mods require that DS and/or IT need to be activated, as well. Check the readme's to know for sure. I know that FB requires DS and IT to be activated. Many mods will work with others, but sometimes conflicts will happen, in that case one of the mods will need to be de-activated. Hope that helps.
WhiteKnight77 1
As Zjj stated, some mods don't play well together, specially weapons mods. Try activating only CO or FB while the other isn't and see what happens. If the game doesn't crash then you will have found the cause of the CTD. If it still crashes, make sure that DS and IT are activated prior to playing the mod again. Check both mods in this way to see if it is the mods or something else. IzzyEddy 0
Well, it is still happening !!!!!!!!! Originally I thought FB was activated BUT it is not, only DS, IT & CO2 is activated. It always happens when I am about to move one of the platoons somewhere in the control map. I have dropped the map detail dow to medium and unchecked the three boxes in the bottom right-hand corner of the graphics section. Still don't know what it up with this but it is getting extremely upsetting .... especially when you are in the middle of this and it is going your way and then ... BOOM ... desktop .... THAT SUCKS !!!!!!!!! funkyMaggot 0
Just to go back to your original post, you mentioned rolling back your drivers to the previous set. Going from the info you posted, if I have read it correctly, you are running Windows 2000. I 'm not really sure about that OS, as I have never used it, but there is an option in XP for rolling back to previous drivers: Go to Device Manager Select your Graphics Card Select Properties Select the Drivers Tab Select the button for going to the previous drivers. As I said, I'm not sure if Windows 2000 has this option but you could check it out. If it hasn't, I'm not sure how you would go about it. IzzyEddy 0
Actually, I have did just that !!! But I do thank you for posting that information. I just un-installed all the video stuff and re-install right from the manufacturers CD. Works as smooth as glass now and I definately won't be getting any updates for the video drivers anytime soon. Thanks to all that helped !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dean
ghost gamer 0
...didn't see this mentioned anywhere...did you install the small patch for CO2?...... ..its like 201 kb's......
ROCO*AFZ* 0
What brand card was it? get the newest from them. I know evga has certified 56 series drivers where nvidia doesn't and they kick but. Also though it mentions there not to use certain ones for certain cards. the reference drivers cover most cards but if your manufacturer added anything such as tv tuner, dvi out and such that doesn't match the reference, it may not work unless they release an update for it. Not nvidia's fault there but your video card manufacturers...
IzzyEddy 0
Actually, I didn't know about the same update for CO2 and have downloaded it but have not try the game yet. Hopefully, tomorrow I will get that tested out. GeForce4 MX 420 with TV-Out Video Card and no I will not download the latest as that is what got me into this situation to begin with. I basically uninstall all of the video drivers and re-install with the driver CD that came with the PC. All works fine now with over 2 hours of play time in both single & multiplayer games. Thanks for all the help, Dean
