it's too thin.. the top of the slide on a mk23 goes down at a 45 degree angle for a few millimeters then straight down. I see you've textured that slant but not modelled it.. as it stands now the weapon is barely wider than the barrel, which is barely wider than a cartridge. considering the way .45 high cap mags are loaded...

well then why don't you point the one in your lap at yourself and see if it looks something like this:

socomlam.jpg

because if it does, your model sure doesn't. look where the business end of the barrel extrudes from the slide. you're blind if you think your model has the same amount of metal there. the lower half of your slide is about as wide as the thinner upper half should be.

you might want to lose that big unsightly chip on your shoulder while you're at it.

 ok, just a suggestion, i also think the pistol is too thin. Take a look at the pic Swifty posted. From the pic, it looks like there's the length of the radius of the barrel on either side of it.

but then again, i've never seen a real one so.....

anyway, your call. great texture btw.

so it's moved from "not too thin" to "you have to compensate for blah blah blah"? nice. I like how your render shot only illustrates more clearly that your slide was (is) way too thin.

and this is where the condescension began: "I've got one sitting in my lap, k?" as if that proves anything. if you bring an attitude, then be man enough take it in kind. clearly, you have a chip on your shoulder. you either can't take constructive criticism or you can't model accurately, but neither means that you need to tell me in intarweb speak to shut up and then threaten to lock the thread. nice moderating.

ok.

i said it was too thin, by maybe a cm, thats only where the boolean is.

i am not gonna fix a cm's length.

thanks for your input.and neither do you need tell me my buisness, if i have a "chip" on my shoulder, youd be the last person i'd show it to.

your real good at this stuff, why dont you go to

www.wdw.bf1942files.com, see what input you have on all the guns there.

1 cm on a gun that's less than 4 cm wide seems to me like a big difference, and apparently it seems significant to several other people who offered up that same opinion. I'm not in poor company here; I would say that other posters in this here thread have quite the modeling talent. so, no need to play me off like an armchair modder.

that said, it sounds perfectly valid to me that you would purposely make the model thin so that it looks good in-game. perhaps you should have explained that before getting testy about the width.

anyway, the texture is great looking. the grip looks really life-like. I'll be sure to keep your lovable attitude in mind the next time I offer up any criticism.. I should have started with the compliments.
