Burke
For some reason when I have my computer on 5.1 sound settings, Ghost Recon doenst play sounds through the center channel. My own rifle, for example, sounds very distant but other effects are normal volumes. Anyone else have this problem?

WhiteKnight77
What are your specs and what kind of sound card are you using?

NurFACE
Try simple solution first check to make sure center channel is plugged in completely on sound card and subwoofer. You should then also run creative diagnostic test to make sure you hear all 5 speakers. Start/programs/creative/creative diagnostic follow next until test speakers. Burke
Everything passed except my Mixer Settings. I "fixed" it. Still no dice in game Edited February 11, 2004 by Burke
NurFACE
Did you run sound test to insure all speakers are in working order. I realize you stated that everything passed but not sure if you played sound test to check each speaker.

NurFACE
You have the latest drivers for sound card. You may want to make sure you have no special effects running in EAX control panel.
Burke
So I tried to update my drivers, but they're saying that I dont have SoundBlaster installed....###### EDIT * - NEVERMIND I just updated them through a Windows search. Will test GR now. Edited February 11, 2004 by Burke
NurFACE
The only time I have seen that message is when Creative software wasn't used to do install. You can try update from site but if that is a problem then reload driver and software from original creative cd. You may want to remove driver then re install with creative cd then update from creative site. Hang in there Burke.
Burke
Still no dice with GR. When I go prone I can hear my weapon at full sound, but when I stand I hear it in the distance. Otherwise I have my sound driver updated and sounds much better with mp3's and other games. Edited February 11, 2004 by Burke
Burke
Nurface...I couldnt send you a PM for some reason... I DO have EAX enabled in GR. I tried around with a few different options, but still no dice. Everything checks out ok in my dx diag...That was the first thing I did. I'm not sure if I want to mess around with my acceleration, because my sound works great with other games.

NurFACE
I have search the internet and most common problem with sound has to do with drivers and wires not plugged in right part of sound card and subwoofer. I gave it a go but couldn't resolve your center channel problem.
