sup everybody, want to say thx in advance and sorry to be a bother, i posted a question ealier and was told was in wrong forum and to try here. here is my problem im making just a basic map with hills and nothing else to start out, ive created 2 maps one with flat terain and the second with hills, now i can go into ubi host a game and see the first map but gr crashes when i go into my second map, just curiouse since my first map was flat and didnt add a shermanlevel height but if im adding hills do i need to add a shermanlevelheight due to the hills, does the command screen need to be configured as well or am i missing a file or so, ive built both maps using sealz tutorials and it doesnt speak of the sherman only scenecenter, but mikes tutorial when building rooms does but since im starting with just ground detail and adding hills no trees or anything i didnt think sherman was needed im new and you guys are gods in ths department any info would be great thx guys

I believe you always, no matter what, need one ShermanLevelHeight for the AI to be able to correctly walk across the ground.

Though if you didn't have one on either map and only one map was crashing I'd say it's likely crashing because of something else. Maybe double check that you aren't missing any custom texture files or anything else you're using.

thats what sealz tutorials also said, sherman not neede since igor will work fine without it, so i know it has to be in the displace for hills maybe the polygons are to high im going o redo the map again and try to backtrace, i know it something really simple but im to much a noob, so ill try a few things tonight evan add a sherman just to be sure and see if it crashes and also check to make sure igot is working fine , sherman and igor i havnt checked yet thx guys and sorry to bother you all

Dont use the Sealz tutorial is my advice. Use Mike Schells tutorial and the level building .pdf. Put the shermanlevelheight in, its just a square, takes 2 seconds to make and 2 to tag. The shermanlevelheight has nothing to do with whether or not there are hills in your map. Shermanlevels are for mutliple map levels, not physically modelled geometry heights within your map. You are making this way more difficult than it is. I highly doubt that your problem has anything to do with shermanlevels to begin with.

My guess is also that you are trying to play a map online that only you have. Everyone needs to have the map as a mod in order to play it MP.

cool, mikes tutorial is awesome as well as sealz and i wanted to make sure the map would show op online since im new to map making so im taking baby steps before i get more involved. you guys are gods in this dept so any info definately welcome thx again ill try using just mikes this time and add sherman thx again
