digory 0
I usually try to go through the threads first but since nothing matched my specific problem I'm hoping someone can provide a clue. After installing a mod I'd immediately started getting CTD's after selecting a sniper with certain kits. Out of 60 kits, I could only select up to 7 kits either up or down. I installed the 1.3.5.0 patch. , removed the mods, and to no avail.... Wanted to go to 1.4 but don't have desert seige. What happened? Crimson 0
First off, the rest of your PC's specs would be appreciated. Second off, what mod are you running? And lastly, you can update to 1.4 without DS and/or IT.

Crimson 0
Read me! I'm going to bed, so hopefully someone will pick up where I left off.
WhiteKnight77 1
Do you have just a base copy of GR without DS and IT? Does the mod you have require both Desert Siege and Island Thunder. If the latter, when you try to use the mod, it will CTD on you. Don't worry about being new to gaming. I was in your shoes at one time and because of the webmaster here, I have learned alot. Stick around and get to know everyone.
digory 0
I have Island Thunder, but not installed. Just running base GR. None of the mods are activated nor did they state that they required either IT or DS. I am wondering if it changed a base file somewhere. It lets you run the game fine, until you get to the weapon kits. Then it CTD when selecting certain sniper kits, and on occassion when you're selecting rifleman kits. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled to no avail. Thanks for the help.
Crimson 0
I have Island Thunder, but not installed. Install it, you won't be dissapointed. Then, do yourself a favor and pick up Desert Siege. As for your problem, it's most likely the mod. Which mod is it that your trying to run?
digory 0
I've had the game for quite a while, have played it many times. I reinstalled it today. Still CTD. I currently have no mods left on this. I took them all out. That's why I don't understand why it's still having an issue.
Specter 0
I noticed you are running 98SE and you have a gigabyte of RAM. There are several issues with this, and two come to mind that may be screwing you here. One, Win9x and ME wont recognize or use more than 512MB of RAM. Two, the GeForce 2 cards have been notorious for memory leaks with system ram more than 512, and even 256. Three, you are running Directx 9, which 98se hates. Which video driver are you running? The error reported in the IKE crash log, is a memory addressing error, with either video or system RAM. Have you tried uninstalling the mod? Did the game work before? What has changed? Have you updated drivers? Has it always had 1024 RAM, or is some of that recently added? Directx9.0 was a beta, and a poor one at that. For 98, I'd go back to 8.1, or go to 9.0b and update your video drivers as well. But 98 doesnt do well with directx anything above 8.1, or the newest Nvidia drivers. Something to keep in mind, since they were written as was dx for XP and 2K. You also definitely need the 1.4 patch, which you can install without DS or IT.
