CME4WHOIAM 0
I have a enemy actor in a black hawk 40 meters in the air. I want him like a look out. With fog included in the map would i need to add distance to the spoting distance for him being in the air? i want all actors to having a spoting distance of about 55-65 meters. Do i have to change it so the guy in the helicopter can see you from where he is with out u being right below him?
Chavez 0
Spotting distance cannot be changed individually, but applies to all Ai actors in the mission. It can be changed mid-mission though, but i really find that to be a not-so-good idea. When setting spotting distance; a spotting distance of approx. 95 in IGOR, will make tangos spot you at approx. 145 meters in-game (measured by binoculars). This is approx multiplier factor, but just try it. Set spotting to 100 in IGOR. Then place 1 Tango on the map at 200 meters facing towards you, and close in on him with Binos. He will probably start shooting at you when your binoculars shows 155-160 meters. Also; spotting heavily depends on what stance you have and what weapon he is carrying. Height difference might be an option but I really doubt it. But with 40 meters it might be a prob. Fog doesn't seem to have much to do with the ability to spot as soon as the spotting distance is custom set by you in IGOR for that mission.
San 0
Maybe they use inches in Igor ! Same for seconds : 10 seconds are not 10 seconds but maybe 5, or I have a very fast CPU

I tried timing things with a stop watch and it was off from what was scripted in. Ill have to do guess and check than

I don't have that problem at all. When I set a spotting distance it is just the same as the spotting distance in game with the binoculars.

Chavez 0
@ the nema-spotting-problema crew Then I really wonder how that will be when you and me enter my mission on the dedicated server where I uploaded it. I doubt they are gonna spot me 100 meters before they spot you. It's a strange thing thou. So how about that 10sec=something else thingy? I can't remember having problem with that here. Jack57 0
So how about that 10sec=something else thingy? I can't remember having problem with that here. That can happen when a program uses the system 'clock' for timing, as opposed to the real time (digital) clock. As such, if the system is busy it can take longer than the actual time specified. The spotting distance thingy is strange though, agreed. I'll check it out again sometime and see if I ain't talking out my what's-it
