Gamesaint 0
Greetings to all in the Ghost Recon.net community. I am new to the mod making scene for GR and wanted to start really getting into some of the more advanced scripting and map making processes. I was wondering is there another level editor to make maps with other than 3ds max? I have done alot of level design with other editors but I do not have 3ds max. Please help, GS out. bkriley 0
Not sure I have only heard of people using 3DSM and Photoshop for map moding. Good Luck! New Maps....
hartog 0
3dsm is the only one that you can export out the GR. you can build maps in other things like bryce. but you then have to do all the tagging in 3dsm. so might as well learn it. and boy is it fun to learn
H-Hour 0
What editors do you have experience with? I had quite a bit of experience with Worldcraft and a little with Radient and UnrealEd. I found the switch-over to 3DSM fairly easy (though I'm still learning plenty). If you're experience has been entirely with brush-based editors like mine was, one of the big things to switch tracks on is that 3DSM is not brush-based. There is no compile process to cut out the back sides of brushes and you'll be working a lot with single planes and the direction of their normals.
Gamesaint 0
I have used Unreal Ed, Rune Ed which Is basically the same editor with a few different tools. I have mostly used 3D Gamestudio to do alot of Level Design and Game Development. I also played around with worldcraft but did not really care for it all that much. I have used Lightwave, and Truespace for modeling, but I really struggle with humanoid type chracters. I really enjoy level design and scripting more. If you or anyone out there has an old textured map that they are not using, I wouldnt mind using them for a mod. Thanks, GS out.
