Multi Player coop disaster

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how my mission would do online with a host with cable. I sent the server side mission to him and we played. for some reason every guy was super fast ran about 1/2 the map in 30 secs.

After we defeated them we waited a couple mins I than ran to the other side of the map to see both trucks just sitting there doing nothign with the people following them standing there.

what went wrong that it works for single player fine but on multiplayer coop it didnt?

could the fast actors be from me being a 56k and it lagging?

lag could of caused the guys to go super-fast, if they wern't for the server then that is why. And, what were the trucks for? where they supposed to drive in the map and drop people off? well, make sure the trucks worked right in Single player first, and if they didn't, that's the problem. if not, i'll have to think about it more.

Another reason i just thought of is that the server tried to cheat by changing the "move threshold" option in the Options.xml file.

There is a bunch of things to take into consideration when wanting server sided missions to work; especially on a dedicated server....

Only activate DS and IT in Ghost Recon before you start IGOR and start creating a new mission (If you o coz isn't particulary making a Frostbyte mission or summthing)

Skip Choppers as they won't do much on the client side. Chopper movements will fail.

Don't use hidething, as it will/might show up as dark shadows on clients from a dedi

If you use hidething then make sure you make them invincible as you hide them to avoid server crashes when some Lucky Luke or Rambo by pure instinct kills that lonely shadow with 2-8 OICW nades from the hip at 8 meters. :P

And a lot more.

I guess someone can fill me out on this one.

Also; lag might have been an issue.
