tmichc 6
As the title suggests, I've just had one of the best games of America's Army that I've had in ages. So much so that it has restored my faith in the game (yeah, I was going to quit it....fed up with getting shot or chat-spammed by the ub3r-l33t idiots that tend to populate some servers ). Was playing on an Official Server (usually the ping's too high for that...and I'm on double-speed broadband ), and ended up having this great succession of rounds with several guys, including ReconSnake (just how many gr.net people play AA anyway?) and others. Anyway, here's a quick screenshot of the scores on the doors (ignore the ROE - bad frags Snake? ) : As Nightmare suggested, maybe the lads and lassies of GhostRecon.net should meet up at a mutually agreeable time for a match or two. If it's anything like the one I had this morning (it was 2:45am when I logged off ). Tim P.S. @Recon: I didn't hear the guy reload because I have to have my speakers reasonably quiet as my flatmates are asleep....time to invest in some good headphones I think. ReconSnake 0
Glad you enjoyed it. Not one of my better nights, but we did pretty well all things considered. I highly recommend headphones for this game, I find the bass overwhelming if I turn up my speakers to an appropriate level.

WytchDokta 6
I was thinking of getting a dedi server up for all the best shooters (AA, H&D2 etc). If I did, it would be expensive for a dedi server so I'm thinking maybe I could set up a PayPal thingy on my site, which would pay for the server. The server would be specifically for those who wanna play properly. No cheaters/ ub3r-l33t3rs etc allowed!! The problem is, I'm on 56k, so it would be no good me setting up a dedi server right? (considering most of your are on broadband etc)

McNamee 0
You need Broadband to play this game right?
WytchDokta 6
You need Broadband to play this game right? Well I can upload my stat thingys to the 'net and I'm on 56k....so I guess you don't need broadband to play it....
McNamee 0
Hmm, whats the lag like?
WytchDokta 6
Dunno, I aint played it online yet.
tmichc 6
McNamee, it depends what server you log onto. Some of the European servers can give very respectable pings, with little lag, it just depends on who else is logged onto the server as well. However, if you're on 56K then chances are you'll be able to get reasonable connections to some Euro servers, and bad pings to the US servers....although it may depend if you use ASE or the in-game browser (my pings to the same server are different in each.... ). In my experience the Official SCI servers can be quite laggy, but this depends on your connection, etc. However, if we want to meet up online this weekend, chances are it's going to have to be an East Coast server. The main problem really though is your system, as I discovered when I upgraded from my old 1GHz Athlon to a 2.4GHz Barton, new RAM, etc...It really helped my performance. @Crimson: Nice one man...I'm still struggling on 26....you can't tell I've been playing the game since v1.2.1. ReconSnake 0
Lag also depends on the map - the SF hospital map is a lag-whore, which is too bad because the map itself is sweet.
Crimson 0
Let me put the lag issue into perspective: you warp with a ping over 200. On the Official Army servers, most of the time my ping is under 100. It's a matter of you connection. Look at it like this... when you warp, your harder to hit... but you also run into things.
