Has any of you used these (or any other 3D glasses) to play GR? Could you share your opinion/experience to the rest of the GR community? I look forward to reading your comments. Killa_N_Manila, I think I read/heard somewhere that one problem with 3D glasses was that the reticle was not in 3D and that made a bit difficult to use the 3D glasses with GR. Apollo Posted February 8, 2003 Share Posted February 8, 2003 I've tried it... the reticule issue is definitely a problem. Unfortunately, 3D viewing is far from perfected. With my GeForce 4 Ti4400, the maximum refresh rate is 60 FPS. This was not satisfactory and quite frankly gave me a headache after a while. Plus, you won't be able to run in 3D at all without a pretty decent vid card. My only advice is to try before you buy if at all possible. That or make sure you can return them hassle-free. I don't think the vendor will accept back the glasses only because a game performs poorly with the 3D glasses. They could argue that their product works and that would be difficult to argue against. Lots of people have issues with running a max of 60fps with XP. One would have to install the NVrefresh tool found on guru3d or download the latest drivers from Nvidia to overide the refresh rate to improve to >60fps... This may help with that issue... So far I only know of 3 products for 3D glasses: 1) eDimensional 2) X3D and 3) X3D World It would be interesting if we could get feedback on how these 3 products work with GR and put a summary to compare them to each other. The configuration software allowed a maximum setting of 60 FPS when using the 3D glasses. Basically, since it has to render everything twice, this would equate to 120 FPS total from both lenses. But since the renders only appear in one lens at a time, my eyes will only interpret this as 60 fps. I just think that in general, the 3D technology available today is far from mature. I went from finishing a game as a winner to finishing on the bottom or close to it every time! That's a big trade off. Then either you plugin the 3D glasses in the 3D converter box if you have wired glasses. Otherwise you're set! I'll see if I can find out more about the reticle issue. I'll keep you guys posted.
