Ruin 17
Well guys, I've been looking for a program to help me out and wonder if you all know of one that will: [*]Hold important dates, and alert me of them when I sign on the computer. For example, I have to call the college on Friday. I want to turn on the PC on Friday, and have a little window open up and say "Call the College!" [*]Alert me in advance (optional). This would be nice to have for say school projects/tests. If I have a test two weeks from now, it alerts me say 3 days early and says "Reminder: Test 3 days from now" or whatever. Not a encessity, but would be cool. [*]Can alert me without me having to load the program. Pretty self-explanatory. Obviously, I need this to remind me of things, so ten to one says that opening the program would be just as easy as using a date-book. All for now, there has to be something like this right? Dannik 43
Outlook? (Sorry, seemed obvious)
Ruin 17
Do I have to open it when I turn on the computer? Or can I mae it start on its own?
Dannik 43
Put a shortcut in your startup folder, and as long as you have Outlook 2002 or 2003, it will run in your tooltray. 2003 by default, and 2002 via a small registry hack.
Ruin 17
I'll give at a shot and see how it goes. I've never used Outlook before, lol. Any brief guide online on the internet or something? Like an Outlook for dummies ? EDIT: I Have 2002, how to I make it start up?
Xian Saint 0
Outlook? (Sorry, seemed obvious) Yah...Outlook is great...and when you turn super-geeky (not that any of you are...I'm talking about myself) and start using a handheld/PDA...you can save all those dates and addy's and memo's (basically everything thats in Outlook) straight into your PDA... Very Handy...and Geeky...
Ruin 17
I'll definatley be PDA-afied for college. So, I'm trying to get in the habit of getting better about remembering things. If I can set someone to remind myself, it'll make life a LOT easier.
Rocky 1,224
[*]Hold important dates, and alert me of them when I sign on the computer. Hmmm, I used to know of a program that sat on your desktop, and did just that, it was very cool. I'll see if I can find it.
Dannik 43
EDIT: I Have 2002, how to I make it start up? Create a shortcut to the executable, and place it in the Startup folder in your start menu. If you want to make it minimise to the tool tray: Start, Run, Regedit, find; HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office.0\Outlook\Preferences Create a new DWORD "MinToTray" (without quotes) Right click this and give it a value of 1 disabled is 0 Next time you minimize Outlook, it's minimized to tray but running.
