swartsz 7
I ran into a very strange problem today and i really need your help! i tried to export a model i made with max 4, currently using max 5, but it won't show up in GR. it looks like the character is holding the weapon, but the weapon is invisible. i have checked everything, the plugins, export settings and even the texture, but nothing works and the strange thing is i have exported the same model using Max 4 and that worked perfect in Ghost Recon. but now i exported it again using Max 5 and i can't see it in GR. Can anybody help me...????????....please....??? edit-- tried it on other models that worked when i exported them with Max 4 but the problem remains the same! damn!!!! cobaka 0
Perhaps the scale got messed up? Try importing the character model into the weapon max file to compare the size.
swartsz 7
the scale is right, i have checked it with the export models from GR, it is just the texture that is gone. On all of my models. i have tried to export several models, even ones from Silent Warrior 3 but it is just gone.
cobaka 0
Maybe the texture coordinates in the export settings then? I believe it's supposed to be invert Y (don't know what that does)
swartsz 7
with the help of Parabellum i have been able to find the asnwer to my problem. It was the sizing of the weapon, you were right Cobaka! it seems the old GR export models do not work with Max 5, but by downloading the Sa80 model from piggyson i am able to export the model to GR and it shows up in the game, just really big but i will get that fixed later! Thank you so much, Para! and of course you Cobaka, next time i won't be as stuborn as i was earlier and will listen to your advice! I am really glad i can get back to modelling and texturing without having to worry about this problem anymore! Edited January 8, 2004 by swartsz

SnowFella 8
I had something similar happen to me without changing versions of 3dsm, all of a sudden all the models I exported with original settings ended up midget size! Tried different settings and when using Meter instead of centimeter as MAX units the guns ended up the right size. Be interesting to see if I'll have to go through this again as I'm in the process of updating my 3dsm 5.1 myself. Snow

SnowFella 8
Well, I just came across a big problem with upgrading to 5.1! Seems all my character models have lost their envelope settings! They all look like hedgehogs again and have to have their export settings completely re-done. There's just a couple of days work out the window! Thank god all the characters that were done already have been exported! Snow
