A little slower paced then R6, as the objective to arrest criminals and shoot as a last resort (SWAT is life saving). Really cool in game interface, and it doesn't have the pre-mission way point planning. Good graphics too. Only problem is a limited amount of choice in weapons and no uniform change options in the SP campaign, however this doesn't apply if you play SP through LAN or on MP. You also get a tactics CD, where a real-life SWAT veteran explains why and how things are done, and you get to see a SWAT team performing quite a few entries. The game itself is very cool, but also very different. It's very, very slow-paced, but it can explode into madness very quickly, even on missions where there are only one or two suspects. In truth, I actually enjoy those missions more, because I can take my time and clear the buildings right. The game is very moddable as well. Parabellum 12 Posted January 5, 2004 Share Posted January 5, 2004 IIRC, SWAT: UJ was supposed to be out in November 2002, but it was delayed, presumably so that the game could be moved to the Unreal Engine. From what I understand, the game was far along in development when the switch happened. I have serious doubts about the prospects of Urban Justice ever being released. If it is released, I also doubt that it will be the realistic tac sim that SWAT 3 was. Most of the original dev team is gone, and the rumblings that I've heard are not very good. For sheer HR action, it beats R6 but lacks some of the depth (planning phase etc.) One of the best games ever made IMO and even newer tactical shooters could learn from its streamlined orders interface (hint, RS, hint!!!) GST is a console-only game. @ firefly2442: I've read similar statements, and I'm not at all interested in buying another stupified shooter. RvSh more than fulfills that requirement.
