WhiteKnight77 1
Ace's Hardware has this interesting article benchmarking the Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX and Pentium 4 Extreme Edition CPUs including a benchmark made from Ghost Recon. IMO in the CPU wars, AMD is barely ahead with the new AMD64 series of processors. As faster versions of the AMD64 are released, I think that they will give Intel a run for their money and then some. From what I see from the last page of the review, AMD has some things in store for Intel. Keep all discussions centered on the CPUs and not whether which company is better. NurFACE 0
IMHO, you get what you pay are willing to pay. I think any computer user besides us gamers or graphic designers, don't really look at performance or benchmarks. I have looked at benchmarks just to give me an idea of what is midrange that is cost effective. Intel or AMD isn't a lose situation when it comes to buying with new processor specs. AMD and Intel market with price and performance trying to out do each other but in the end both count there money off our expense. Your link has an interesting perpective and I will share another one for us all to look over but by no means should a benchmark determine who you decide to send to the bank. I don't think benchmarks prove much other than what you can get out of each processor along with the other factors.. motherboard, memory, and graphic card... http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20031223/index.html Wheels go round and round.
