Adding TurboTax to my Windows XP system caused GR to fail immediately on double-clicking! Adding the 1.3 and/or 1.4 patches provided a GR that would boot up but which failed during single user play. During TurboTax installation I got a Windows msg saying some Windows XP files were being deleted. Removing TurboTax and doing extensive Windows XP updating and a GR reinstall got a working GR but now I had lost my campaign progress.

I want to reinstall the original GR but retain my campaign progress. What files need to be retained?

Campaign files are the files ending in .CSF_BIN found in Origmiss\save\game, MP1\save\game or MP2\save\game

You will also want to copy the following files (from root of Ghost Recon folder) to a safe place;

unlocked_missions.xml

unlocked_heroes.xml

options.xml

Once you have reinstalled, you can copy them back to the Ghost Recon folder
