Multiplayer joining problem

I have windows 98

version 1.4

I had problems with my ip i read the pinned post and fixed the problem.

I added some ips and it worked fine.

Than a friend gave me his ip. I added it and noticed it didnt work. I refreshed the list and nothing. The next day i say he was hostign a game i went to join through ip and it was unkown status. I joined through ubi and to him the ip didnt work. He asked someone who joined through ip if it worked they said yes. He told me to leave and try it. I left and went to the ip page his game status was unkown. I clicked it and joined game and connected.

Is there a reason y the status doesnt change even if he is hosting a game?

If someone is behind a firewall, you may see such messages. Even though the game is up and you can join, something transpires that doesn't allow the game to be seen. I have people tell me that all the time. As long as you can join, that is what counts.
