Dan
I would like some info on 3 things. The marines among us would probably be able to help with most of this. 1. The Maghook I know its some kind of magnetic grappling hook, but that is it, any more info on range, widespreadity of use etc. 2. The Colt Commando rifle I know little of this weapon except the name, and that it kiks ######, same info as above if possible 3. Semper Fi I know it is part of the USMC war cry or creed or something, but what does it mean?? If anyone can help, thanks
Ruin
I can help with this: 1: Maghooks are fictional (if the info I'm getting is correct). It's called an Armalite MH-12 Maghook, and is used in Modus Operandi. Take a look here, and here (the code is 726, just type it on the keyboard then go to Ice Station) 2: Colt M4 Commando 3: Semper Fi is short for Semper Fidelis, which is Latin for “Always Faithful”. I'm sure our Marines can give you the deep non-technical meaning.

FuSaKi
Ah, so the Commado is the M4, didnt know that Not quite. I don't know much about the Colt Commando, except for the fact that it is the predecessor of the M4. *********EDIT****** Colt CAR-15 / XM-177 Commando Colt M4 and M4A1 carbine / assault rifle The Colt company developed various carbine versions of the basic AR-15 / M16 rifle since 1970s. These carbines were intended for all markets - military, law enforcement, civilian. US Military (and some other armies, most notably - Israeli Self-Defense Forces) had adopted the Colt CAR-15 Commando and XM-177 carbines during the 1970s and 1980s. But early in 1990s the old idea of replacing the pistols in the hands of the troops with some more effective, shoulder fired weapon, rise again in the heads of the US Military. In fact, this idea can be dated back to the US M1 Carbine of 1941, but good ideas never die. So, in the 1994, US Army adopted the Colt Model 720 selective-fire carbine (basically, a shortened M16A2 rifle), as the US M4 Carbine. Gordo_Viper
Yeah Matthew Reilly Books, are a good read. Action packed, not realistic, but a helluva lot of fun. Basically Colt Commando, a basic understanding is:- M4:- Carbine versionof the M16A2 through M16A3- various version available Some are , M4A1, M4 SOPMOD, M4 Enhanced carbine (CQB) , M4 SPR, M4A3, M4A5(Aust SF Version) etc. CAR15 Colt Commando:- Carbne version of the Original M16A1. Basically the carbines used by Delta in 93 in Somalia where CAR15's.
FuSaKi
There's this sick new carbine being developed by Diemaco. Its called the C8CQB. Its essentially a shortened C8 with a 10.5" barrel, with a Flat Top upper receiver, shipped with a Triad 2 mounting system, and one of those fancy holographic(???) reflex sights. The potential is that this weapon would be as flexible as an M4 SOPMOD (minus the 203), in a carbine as small as the Commando. Probably better quality too. This one doesnt have the Triad 2... Gordo_Viper
Seen the US version in piccies of Close Protection Teams in Ghan using them. Devgru and Delta Teams. Nice compact weapon. As the name implies you'd only use it for CQB.
