Xalarth 0
Ahh... I see. Thanks for your help. Sometimes the simple things are overlooked... Edited December 25, 2003 by Xalarth
Xalarth 0
Ok, another question... I have the plugin now. This might sound dumb, but which folder under Plugins do I put it into? Thanks for your time.
Dannik 43
%Drivename%:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-Ins by default.
Xalarth 0
I have it all alone in the plugin folder, not in any other folders, but when i try to open the kit_munz-03.rsb file, it photoshop says it's not the right kind of document.
Dannik 43
ooh... this is a Ghost Recon forum, so I assumed you were trying to open GR .rsb files, which means the IT plugin is the right one. I now suspect you may be trying to open the more vintage RS files, which means the new plugin won't work (to the best of my knowledge). If I can ask for more details about which game you are editing for, and which Photoshop version, it would make this easier?
Xalarth 0
I am editing for Ghost recon v1.4 (trying to make a custom kit image), and running Adobe Photoshop 7.0, if that helps any.
Dannik 43
Ok, checklist time: If you have: The RSB plugin from the Island Thunder CD Photoshop 7 Put the plugin in the default directory Restarted Photoshop since doing so You should* be good to go. Please, tell us the filesize on the plugin, as in the past some folks have had the wrong plugin inadvertantly, even though it was technically correct. *it's never a precise environment, but with patience, GR.net's folks WILL get the problem solved. Eventually. EDIT: There have been some issues with the plugin in the past, that I forgot when I posted. The plugins only work on the PC platform, for one, and I am not clear in my memory of the others. Any details would be appreciated. Xalarth 0
Everything is "Check", and the filesize is 120 kb I'd add a picture, but dont know how..... im kinda new to forums. *Edit* Im running on a PC Edited December 26, 2003 by Xalarth
Dannik 43
Crap. I'm out of options, and using the same plugin with PS 7.0 to open the same file, I had no issues. That doesn't mean I don't belive you are having issues, but it does mean I have nothing further to offer, in terms of help. Patience. Someone here will likely have a better solution. At least we've determined that you are technically in good shape.
Xalarth 0
Im getting tired... bed time for me. If anyone else has any ideas, please share them with me. If you think of something else, Dannik, feel free to post them. One last thing... Can you tell me how to post pictures from my hard-drive? Thankd for your help. Dannik 43
Can you tell me how to post pictures from my hard-drive? You can't, in the sense that I assume you mean. You need a webhost to put the pics on, OR a special level of membership here to use the existing image hosting OR, OR, OR.... basically, there's no simple way to get stuff from your HD online. It's not really that complex to do, but it's not as simple as you (from your phrasing indincates) think. I give you three days before you have solved your RSB problem, and learned how image hosting works. At the worst. Welcome to GR.net.
Xalarth 0
Here's something I got after I did a fresh reinstall of Photoshop 7 this morning. Any clue as to what it means? (This is an exact quote of what it said.) " You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Windows' primary paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch volume to be on a diferent volume, preferably on a different physical drive. " And it only shows up once per reinstall. I wonder if this has anything to do with why I cant open the file?
Xalarth 0
Ok, I think i've got it this time. The file was sent to me by a friend, and I think his Island Thunder cd is burned. That makes all text files blank, and all applications "Not valid Win32 Devices". but it doesn't change the icons or names of the files, so they look like they work untill you try to run them. Plugins cant really be run (if im wrong please correct me), in a literal sense, so you wont know if they work... see where im going?
Xalarth 0
I have it working now, icons are made, now it's just a matter of making the kits show up in-game.
