Hi folks,

thought I'd post a quick question about playing GR online with a 56k connection. Are there a lot ppl out there playing this game on 56k?

I have been playing Call of Duty MP recently,on a 56k only server - I was wondering if there were 56k only servers for GR too?

Unfortuanately the phone company here in the UK has been very slow to spread fast connections nationwide.

Anyways, thanks very much in advance for any replies, and -

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

There are alot of good high speed dedicated servers to play GR on.

If you have 56k, thats fine. I used to have 56k and I had little problems, the only problems I did have was when I played in the Ubi GR lobby. :P

Over at WOLF Gaming, we have a couple 56kers from all over the world that are regulars and they hardly have problems playing.

Can a 56 K player crash a server?

I run a small server using DSL with 128k upload. I connect to it across my lan and have several friends connect across the internet. 2 or 3 of them of them have broadband cable but one has dialup. I've noticed that the server will crash from time to time if we play a game with a bunch of tangos. I didn't know if it was a software issue with my server, not enough upload bandwidth, or the 56k not keeping up with everything.

Anybody know what the most likely culprit of the occassional crashes might be? Does it mess up all the players and the server or just that one player if their connection can't keep up?

The most likely culprit here will be the 56K not handling some of those heavily scripted missions and the data flow from them with the extra tangos.

Some of those heavy missions are hard on broadband.

It's the upload speed on those heavy missions.
