downloadng from file planet

Recommended Posts

I am hoping someone can help. When I try to hit the download button from the user devloped campaigns on this site I get sent to a file planet screen that tells me I need to log in, which I do, but then I get an error. If I log in first to file planet I get the same page. Very strange. From the download pages here it looks like you should go directly to the download servers. Anybody know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks.

Even to download from the public servers, you have to have a Gamespy account. Do you have a Gamespy account to DL from FilePlanet from, or are you trying to use your gr.net account?

If you dont have one, create one. It's free. Not all mods have an alternate locale to DL from.

I did get a log in from file planet, but cookies are not enabled. That is most likly the problem. But, also looking for other sites with google seems to be working as well. Thanks to all for you help. I apprecite it.

Yeh, it'll need cookies enabled to log you in automatically. So when you click on the download link from here it iwll take you straight to the download page, without needing to login manually.

You will find some of the mods listed here at other locations, but we have every single mod ever released, and I keep them entries updated with the latest patches, and remove out of date entries - so as long as you can get logged into FP, you'll be spoiled for choice

I only have problems with File Planet with IE. So I have gone to Opera for anything I need from file Planet and that has done the trick.

Oh yeh, I should have mentioned that. It's always wirth having a different browser installed, and when you get problems like this, just try your backup browser, it can save alot of hastle.

Like Phantom says, Opera is a good choice (of course alot of people use it as their main browser, not as a backup).
