Matt03 0
I love this map but the one thing that makes me sad is the fog that comes over the road when you get on the bridge. I wish there was something that could fix this.
deleyt 0
Change the fog-distance (and the clipping-distance) in the .env file. The fog was made for a reason though: - blending to the clipping-distance - creating an atmosphere which suits that map very well.
sleeper 0
Ive bugged Neutron about remaking this map a couple of times, maybe if we can get a few more people talking about it again, he'll shake the dust off and surprise us. Please dont bug him with emails or anything, thats not what I mean. The fog was used fairly heavily, I believe, to help performance. This map was made quite a while ago, you can see there is no detailed ground texture even, this wasnt left out on purpose, it just wasnt possible at the time. Im pretty sure there are quite a few things that could be tightened up now that would eliminate the need for heavy fog and give the fog a better effect in regards to atmosphere. Not that its bad, its actually a damn great map imho. I just think it would have been a little more perfect if he could have pushed the clipping plane back a little bit at the time. Matt03 0
The problem is not the fog in general but just when I get on the bridge there seems to be a lot of fog that comes from no where. I don't mind the fog in the map it is just this one area. I have tried to change the env but no luck.
neutron 0
yeah, that fog annoyed me too. Makes the tarmac way too white. it has to do with the height settings of the fog. If you play with the numbers in the enviroment editor, you should be able to make it go away.
Matt03 0
I played with the fog some and it helped the problem but it didn't eliminate it completely. It also hurt the general feel of the map since I had to push the hear range back to 100. Maybe if I put the far range close to that and increase the range it can bring some of the magic back to the map. I will keep messing around with it.
lexsis 0
too many people are using fog (to cover up some of the games flaws...ie: cammo dont do squat to hide you) the problem with using too much fog is that it creates these very unrealistic shadows that can be seen from as far away as the other side of the map. people need to be aware of that when they start applying fog to maps that didnt have it to begin with and adjusting the fog on existing maps. I cant tell you how many kills Ive gotten (multiplayer) by firing on an a shadow.
