Gordo_Viper
I will be able to be involved in multi-player down the track. Within next 2 months or so. But I'm happy to help out with what i can with any forum we start up on GR.NEt etc. Far as i can see there's about 6 of us with LO-Mac so far. Yodasplat Chems McNamee Zebb Me Gordo_viper EricJ and a few others possible down the track. Multiplay could be fun, start out training against one another and running joint misssions as combined air superioty/ mud mover package. 4 or 5 people would make a really good MiG Sweep group. And then when the group has worked as a team for awhile you can opt to take on some other players/ groups etc. I guess it depends on what airplane types each of us like. I.e. F-15 Fans/ A-10 fans or Su-25 fans/ Sukhoi -27/33 Fans etc. From what i can see on the Lo-mac website the patch has fixed some issues but has created issues for either the traning missions or single missions- but fixed some glaring issues for the campaign. F-15 radar is genereally fixed and AIM-120C AMRAAM is now more realistic in kinematic performance (basically goes further-50km and is more lethal). Chems
Sounds like youve thought this threw well if we can get some definate stuff down ill talk to rocky about a dedicated Sub forum.
Gordo_Viper
The Sub Forum could be useful for hints and tips, breifs on weapons/ aircraft and our own bug reporting etc. Lo-mac has forums as well, but as I've said b4 they can be a "bit" anal. Only prblem with muti-player teams is people will have to have a level of basic flying down pat i..e taking off, working avionics, landing, weapon employment etc. With a sub forum maybe those who are more experienced can help the noobs etc. Just an idea thats all. I know EricJ has done some skins Mod for it, and a sub forum could be good for informing others about various modding efforts or patches etc to the game. The whole team multiplayer is basically built on the same idea as a GR.Net squad, it is even more prelevant in air combat simulations- there are squad etc that like GR.NET train together and fight together. It could be interesting flying co-op missions as well, you'd have people in F-15 eagles shooting down Migs while other people in A-10's could be turning Tanks into scrap metal. Just some thoughts. Any other opinions? Cheers Gordo
Chems
I like the sound of this very much, specially the basic skill levels, my flying skills are good after lots of practise with the demo and FS2002 and other FS. With all the wing commands it would be great to play MP against some other guys. Specially an air war and ground stuff going on at the same time. Shame theres no back seater planes, to real life ppl would make one hell of a team. Theres lo mac manuals about which could be useful for us noobies. One thing i want to try is formation flying and formation landing to get good at that would be un real.
Gordo_Viper
Just to give you all an idea of what multi-play co-op resources are out there here are some links:- The following Links are from Sim HQ these are useful for noobs and experienced players alike:- Firstly a Review of the LO-MAC flight Sim for those who are consdiering buying it or want to know more Review This first help article details how to use the A-10 weapons effectively and what different types of weapons there are:- Ground attack in the A-10 This link is one that will be extremely useful for Co_op missions amongst A-10 drivers- it's basically an A-10 tactics/ multi-plane tatcics manual from RAF Bentwaters (A-10 base at height of Cold War) A-10 tactics This Link deals with Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air to air combat in LO-Mac, for Noobs BVR is shooting down planes you have on radar but cannot see visually. BVR in LO-Mac This article deal with how best to dogfight your jet- basically deals with corner speed etc and how your speed and way you "handle" the jet efeftcs performance LO-mac maneuvability

Gordo_Viper
LO-mac is definetly a system intensive piece of kit, sort of like Falcon 4 when it hit the shelves, thankfully i only need some more RAM to make it more playable. @SI Prozac there is a a new patch out for LO-MAc may wnat to check it out to see if if fixes the problem, copy of Read me for Patch is on Lock On modern Air Combat Website @Chems some of those links are specific to the A-10 (the A-10 tactics would alos work for the SU-25). The BVR article gives general hints for beaming etc Defensive tactics against missiles. I will have a look for some 1 vee 1 articles and some 2 vee 2 articles on the net and post links here. Pincer moves, and eyeball/ shooter tactics would work wonders for multi-play. cheers Gordon

WhiteKnight77
Thanks, while I didn't set it up, I did come up with the Flight Wim sub-forum idea instead of just a Lock-On sub-forum. I just wish I could get stuff to fire in the demo. Kinda hard to do anything when ya can't shoot.
The_Slink
How come no one's done all that sorta stuff for IL-2?
EricJ
Thanks for those Skins EricJ . Impressed with some of the skins I've been made for LO-MAC Nice to hear F-15 is more lethal as well thanks to the patch. Anything improved on the Flankers? Cheers Gordo Probably because there isn't as much complexity to IL-2. Fixed gunsight, guns, bombs rockets. LOMAC you got RWR, flight models, missiles, guided, SAMs, etc. Definitely more complex. Actually the Su-33 feels a little more responsive, smoother to fly, but doesn't seem to be much of a change. I haven't been too much delving into the sim, though I'm itching for a rematch with the Mirage with the latest patch, hopefully they improved the missiles. Guest SI-Prozac
this game good online? have like a coop and adversial or what? i played the demo a bit fps was kinda low had to turn graphics to medium ... game has so many buttons and options... all kind of stuff to customize it .... looks confusing and the demo wont save it either so i only set up basic joystick controls to fly ... and turned all the helpers on. just to fly around a bit ... looks pretty good might consider buying it. EricJ
Supposedly it is pretty stable online, though there are some stability problems such as the person's computer itself. But unlike Flanker, where if you got hit with a missile, it would CTD or reboot. LOMAC it's missile stable, since Flanker was mostly gunzo all the time.
