Now I am not the best DM guy but in my short experience on certain maps mainly the originals that the sniper has an advantage on most woodland maps. i 90% agree with matt on that. in some of my missions i have had a sniper in a ghillie prone with in the taller grass and even from 20 meters he can be hard to see at times. I havent gotten my shot down but i am pretty good at the art of camoflaging. (caves ham hill i think is my best) on some woody maps (caves again some times the sniper even with the ghillie suit isnt the best if the spawns are close and instead of stealth you need fire power) also why i dont think i have the best aim on multiplayer is that i run on 56k so i lag alot. Still working on the Medal of Honor. I had another campaign with New Cold War and had the Bronze Star Silve Star and Medal of Honor after the first three missions. Lets here about your best. LOL braging u got the purple heart. lets see Quick mission elite firefight on all GR missions bring only one man in witch is a sniper i used sr25 sd and m9sd i beat them all with out having an enemy fire with me. (both with and with out threat indicator on) Medal of honor sniping in GR campaign on elite with no threat indicator on. (i was real happy) the next mission i went to fire and missed . I took out the first guy the other two scrambled. I took one in the leg. I wish I didn't have to sit him out for the next one because his replacement got a Bronze Star too. While playing GR on the Train Depot map, on night of Dec 16, 2003. I took the m60 due to the hot inserts. After the team cleared the insert I was able to get a 293.4yrd shot. I was standing beside the road by the first of teh two Buildings (closer to the camp). The Target was standing on the top of the hill(by the 50cal). I looked through the binocs and it read 293.4yrds. I switched to my weapon and fired a three round burst. At which point I noticed the top left corner of the screen saying =UE=Scorpion has elimniated......." CANDY_MAN Posted December 17, 2003 Share Posted December 17, 2003 I would have to say that my favorite thing as a sniper is when you are scoping the area making sure its clear to proceed to your next hiding/scoping spot and you notice a slight silouette (spelling?) of an enemy in the fog that is just in graphical range (or else he wouldnt snow up) and what i like to do is wait for them to stop (i dont like shooting moving targets unless they are coming at me) I like the 100% accuracy at the end of the mission. And depending on which wey they are facing, popping them in the ear, eye, or where the neck meets with the head. I LOVE long shots like that especially if there are more than one enemy in the area...you can lay there watching the patrols and timing it right so when you shoot it doesnt scare the others (when they are farthest apart) ...1... ...2... ...3...time to move. The other day I had a kill at 460 meters with the stock M-24 on a modified Airbase map. I was trying to take him from 700 meters but I just couldn't. But I did get him from 700 meters with the M-82 from Navy Seals 2.0. It was awesome. I know some won't believe this but it is true. Few players have the determination to practise the patience required in sniping actually this smiley is quite accurate with the sweat and everything because i always find myself with the heart pumpin when a real good sniping oppertunity comes up i have alot to learn ingame and nowhere near what you could call a "good" sniper but i have got a story to learn from I remember a LAN we had set up afew weeks ago with my friend and his brother. Me and his brother (who i will call hellbringer for purposes simple) are about equal skill. We were playing a 1v1 on valley me as good ole ghuille suit snipe and he was a demo with standard gun kit (grens 2ndry). It took us ages because we kept back tracking on each others sweeps. I was dashing from tree to tree and apparently he never saw me once the entire game. Pity i couldnt say the same... I was sitting in one of them 3 way brushes and just on the edge of a jill near that rock wall thing on the north edge of valley looking onto the horizon when suddenly a big fat demo guy ran past me and didnt see me. I thought "damn quick fire before he gets away".... that was my mistake huh I was reflecting on that moment after the battle and realised that if i had have waited then i could have stalked him and got a really cleen shot on him. Other than that he started to try to flush me out with grenades despite not knowing where i was so i went with fate and got out of there Later i managed to kill him not with the accuracy of my gun but more so the lack of his accuracy. I made him run outta bullets hehe just went up to him point blank and wasted him with good old L9 Myself im going to keep trying the classic m24. It has the best stationary accuracy of all the sniper weapons (0.5P, 1C and 2S) and has a very good killing power with 99% head 95% chest and 82% abdomen. sure its got a recoil of 100 but thats only the same as the m8 and BETTER than the dragunov. it also has a very fast stabilisation time. it also looks like a twig well ill be happy to hear replies as i need as much help and practise as i can get all hail Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anyway 1v1 death matches are great as a sniper. I was playing with a friend the other day and I was a sniper and he was a standard soldier. We were at the day farm and my first kill was from the road just going to the main road in front of the farm. He had gotten on the 50 caliber machine gun and was firing in my direction. I was able to see the flash of the gun and I was able to put a round right on him and take him out. I couldn't even see the outline of his body. My second kill was pure luck. I lagged right passed him in the field on the south of the map. I took him out from behind and then made my way to the bushes besides the road leading to the barn and I was able to take him out 4 more times. He never saw me. The M-24 is a good rifle. If you are going to go in loud to an area that is what I would take. It is probably one of the most balanced rifles in GR. The accuaracy and the speed is good. I don't know of anyone who would snipe and do that. Sniper code 1 shot 1 kill. Not play around with your enemy. I don't think u ever sniped agaisnt me but if u did that i would turn towards u and kill u so fast but than again knowing you i think u would would just try to kill me with 1 shot. I would think that hiding in the tall grasses prone or near a tree camoflauged in would be a better straigty but thats my way (hide like a coward and hope u dont have to fire) PS: HE HE.
