retexturing IT maps

Hi all... :yes:

I'm trying to retexture some of the IT maps...in particular, the Cuban city map (i.e., Polling Centre)...

I've studied Firestar's map retexturing tutorial...the only problem is I can't find a "grounddm"-like RSB for Polling Centre anywhere in its map folder... :blink:

Does anybody know where that would be? I thought about Command Maps...in IT, they're in a separate folder..if I retexture the Command Map, would it alter the game map as well???

I'm retexturing the Polling Centre map for my upcoming mod. It will only be a tiny bit of retexturing....I only wanna change the grafitti that says: "CUBA" etc. So I will be retexturing all the parts that refer to Cuba, so I can use it as a mediterranean style map....

Well, I'm not a retexture guy, but there is no grounddm on the polling centre, as this is ground detail used on terrain maps...and as you know the polling centre is only roads. Therefore, you have to look for roads etc. if you wanna retexture the ground I guess.

The commandmap does NOT affect the map. Only the commandmap you have on that particular map.

there isnt some "grounddm"-like RSB" on "C06_Polling_Center" , on "cp05_market" , "m05_embassy" "m10_Vilnius" too there isnt... you can find some in exterior map ... not in the cityone... (sometime its called like this too "c01_detail_256dmc01_plantation"...) ... you can change the apearence of the ground , by changing the street texture like (in "C06_Polling_Center" , you can try ,"c06_pavement01" , "c06_street02" , "c06_ground01" ... sometime you must search for the one you want really...) other thing can alterate the color ground , are the "DarkMap" & the fog...

if you want play the two "C06_Polling_Center" , the original one & the transformed one , you need to make a new ".env" & a new ".miss" , and change the name of all new files , for prevent any overwritting (you must make the change in the ".map" too...) the HarntroXMod , give us some cool tools for this...
