snared_gambit 0
I'm quite surprised with these results. As you can see, it's still untextured, but it will be textured soon. But first, let me just say that I can't believe this I've chamfered almost every edge, and booleaned more then ever. There's cylinders in there with at least six segments. But amazingly, it's only 1157 polys! I present my M16A4 Any suggestions for sighting systems\attachments would be great. Thanks. Just finished Thanksgiving dinner and set to this. I'm eating more turkey before I model. Edited November 27, 2003 by snared_gambit

DVS1 0
Excellent work dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing I could say as constructive critisim is the reciever looks a little dark (having said that I realise mines too light ) The texturing on the RIS if superb buddy!!!! Keep it going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a forest of 'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
snared_gambit 0
The credit for all the textures (cept the trijicon) goes to Para. He's given me permission to use them, allowing me to do stuff like this. I can't make textures for ****, so he's basically kept me going for colt weapons. I darkened up the trijicon, cause it looked too bright. Looks much better now.

DVS1 0
Its still a cool piece of work buddy. You should see some of my texture files............a bloody mess!!! If you'd ever like to swap material just drop me a line, I've just made some custom models for Gen. Montgomery and am always open to try and offer my services if I can help. I still love that Reflex sight though dude......... Congrats!!
DVS1 0
Blimey buddy!!!!!!!! Thats all you did to make that Trijicon????????? :'( your making me, you are lol I went at it a totally different way, NGONS and extruding and edit meshes etc etc............god i should
snared_gambit 0
It's too easy man. You've just got to think of simple ways to do things. I tried the N-gon and edit mesh, and it was a mess. I just though of that way early this morning and went for it. Just use ockam's razor, the simplest was is best. Look forward to seeing your model textured, great work again!!! DVS1 no offense dude, but that stock is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy off. and ur attachment images are of very poor quality. it's a victor stock, being used by the Marine marksmen in Iraq, and i have seen it in a couple of pics, and in the refrence pic you used, and it looks like you bascially made a square, and cut the bottom half of it off. Fix that, and you would have urself some downright nifty models Man, snared, you have come far my friend.

DVS1 0
@ Marcinko Hey dude thanks for the input, am I missing something from the stock bud? Here's the pic I used for reference and here's my version2 for comparison If there is something missing buddy, have you got a pic I can use for reference to update the model cheers bud Laters
snared_gambit 0
Looks pretty close to me DVS1. Although it kind of looks like it's one or two extruded faces. Do you have the battery case modeled on?
DVS1 0
I really should do and angled shot I suppose I've used an NGON and extruded it to the shape of the cheekpiece as I found a pic of the stock from above and saw the shape of it. I've never really shown much interest in this stock til now and wanna make sure I get it 100% Thanks for input guys
snared_gambit 0
How much interest would there be in me compiling these and making several more and creating a weapons mod? I've added an M203 and a flashlilght to the m16 and it looks awesome.
Marcinko 1
on the pics i have, the bottom part of the stock is more slanted..... Edited November 29, 2003 by Marcinko
