He likes the M98 and I like the 7.62, what would be the better gun to choose? How would you rate each one for accuracy? I like the 7.62 because of the sound also because it has that loud crack. Dannik 43 Posted November 27, 2003 Share Posted November 27, 2003 Assuming we're in-game, the PSG-1 (aka 7.62 sniper) is possibly the best combination of accuracy and power in GR. The M98 simply does not have the same punch. Certainly, it reloads faster than the PSG, and has slightly faster rets, but as a sniper, it's a one shot/one kill situation. I alternate between the PSG and the SVD, personally. The PSG is my fave, but sometimes the semi-auto factor of the SVD wins over, depending on the game. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
SOTOMac 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Share Posted November 27, 2003 Yeah - The PSG-1 is probably the most Accurized Sniper Rifle for taking out Soft Targets ( Tangos ) in the Game. That said - Its the OP that will detail what Kit I'm gonna load out with. If I've got Hard Targets ( Vehicles to Stop or a though the Door shot ) and I'm not concerned about My Weapon's report - I'll take the .338 Lapua ( M98 ) or the .50 BMG ( M82A1A ). Personally - If I'm after Soft Targets ( Tangos ) - My Weapon of Choice is the K.A.C. SR-25 SD Mark 11 Mod 0. Sincerely, Quote Link to post Share on other sites
snowpilot 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Share Posted November 27, 2003 My preferred rifle is always a bolt action. In the orig mission, the PSG is a semi-auto, but the power is a great equalizer. I've added a bunch of mods, and changed a few of the gun files, but my preferred weapon is still the PSG-1. The M-98 is just too weak in the game considering the round it fires. A .338 would drop a tango with one round no matter where he's hit, if only from the pain My fav weaps are a modded PSG (changed to bolt action, 6-round mag), and for long shots, a modded M-99 (changed to single shot). Drop the first with the -99, pick off those who attend the funeral with the PSG. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
