putting movie stars in GR

I've just begun work on my first mod...a Hollywood action flick-type mod that will feature GR skins of real movie heroes...

So what I'm working on right now is trying to paste celebrity photo faces onto CHR models...and it ain't easy! :wall:

:thumbsup: Props to ShoT, who made an excellent tutorial in the Recon section on the step-by-step guide to pasting photos onto GR faces...without that tute, I wouldn't know where to begin!

The main problem is 3-dimensional, not 2-dimensional, though: it's fairly easy to blend a photo face into an rsb file...but in game, the final product can look pretty, well....skewed. That's because you have to wrap your rsb face around an existing qob head, and the dimensions rarely match... :wall:

Some GR modders have already done a great job skinning some movie and TV characters...the A-Team, Jesse Ventura from "Predator," Bruce Willis from "Tears of the Sun," Tom Berenger's "Sniper," Kilgore from "Apocalypse Now..."

I just wish there was an easier way to match rsb faces to the head dimensions of the qob models... :unsure:

As I said, it's all hit or miss right now...my Ah-nuld is definitely a "miss" until I can find a decent model for him...on the other hand, Chuck Norris and Tom Cruise are coming along nicely... :rocky:

It was me who did the A-Team ages ago. Now that I have 3DSM, I think I might make a new version of that mod.

If yer makin' a full-scale A-Team mod, though, yer gonna have to change the script to make sure EVERYBODY is a lousy shot....nobody gets hit, then the bad guys have to run out of ammo and surrender after B.A. throws them through a window. :o=
