WytchDokta 6
As nobody would answer my question about unit scale in my thread called: "Copying and pasting in 3DSM", I have decided to start this thread. So lemme explain this: The correct unit scale for making weaps (for GR) in 3DSM is 1 unit = 1 cm right? Well, how come alot of modders make their weaps in 1 unit = 1 inch? Is there something I haven't been told? Can 1 unit = 1 inch be used? The reason is, I use 1 unit = 1cm and Chems uses 1 unit = 1 inch. I sent my Famas to him so he could tweak it a bit. When he was done he sent it back with the 1 unit = 1 inch scale. So I uploaded it in that scale and it's perfect....but when I load it up in (what I have been told is) the correct unit scale, 1 unit = 1 cm, the texture is completed messed up and some faces are mission of me weapon. That don't happen in the inches unit scale. So, pls answer my questions above. Edited November 24, 2003 by -[NCM]- .:Nightmare:.
Argyll 1
I'm sure this has to do with the exporting of the models, and that's why theunits are set up as Inches for weapons, and cm's for chrs!
WytchDokta 6
In the weapon modding tutes I've read, including ones on thi website, it says to set up the unit scale as cm for weapons.... So my Famas will be ok in inches? And I can make all my other weapons using the inches scale?
GRIN_Wolfsong 0
If you look at it in general, it doesn't really matter if it's set to inch or cm. Juyst make sure it's teh right scale compared to the characters in-game when you export it. I never bothered with the scale for weapons in 3DSM while making them. Just made and export and tested until I got the right size on a weapon and then used that one to scale all other weapons against before exporting.

Tech 0
Hey nightmare! cm or inch = who cares lol Before exporting your gun, you have to rescale it, so I suggest you follow Pain`s video tutorial on exporting, as it will bring your gun to the right size anyway...The videos are found here: http://www.planetrainbowsix.com/atwar/Pain/index.html Look for "modding videos" on the left tab, it should be "helpers 2 export" There should be some files included with the video that will be used as references to scale your gun properly...Was pretty easy for me, and I`ve always used the inches unit...The only thing is that not all the helperpoints are explained in the video (brass ejection and holster points are not...) but it`s no big deal to figure them out... Hope this works good for you too! Come back to me on this... T.E.C.-Leader Tactical*Elite*Corps

Better to go download them even if your on slow connections as you can keep then and look at them when you need them. Also, as much as we see you in here you have to be connected quite a lot anyhow so the cost can't be the problem, right.
