w()fare 0
For those interested that want a helper in creating or getting started with a map, there is a site www.topozone.com that provides topographical maps of the united states. The most useful thing about these maps is them showing building locations, elevation lines, roads, rivers, vegetation - you name it and this site has the abitility to zoom in on your chosen location or "coordinates" to a scale of 1:10000 which coincidentally on the scale creates a 500 X 500 meter image of the map, perfect for ghost recon map sizes (nearly). Aerial Topdown Photos are also availble too. While its not "original" in recreating an existing place, there is enough landmass and obscure places in the U.S to find that type of map your looking for and give you ideas

San 0
I was looking for aerial pics from my place, hard to find... I like the idea to model real existing places. If you look at (all) RSE's maps they are also from real places. Don't have to be 100% the same, but only main things. It's also easier then creating a fantasy-place, because you don't have to fantasize anything, just copy it ! Only thing is : you see so much detail in real-life you can never put it all in ! That's why you don't have to be 100% accurate.
