Disabling the detailed map

Recommended Posts

So - I've finished my first mission (almost) and now I want to remove the detailed map view when a player clicks the objectives in the briefing.

-or even better - I want to learn how to link the objectives to coordinates on the map - making screenshots show up at the objective coordinates when clicking the objectives.

Hmm - do I make any sense? :-"

Hmmm, a bit confusing :stupid: You want to remove the command map, but you want to link to co-ordinates?

To link the objectives to co-ordinates, in Igor place four Waypoints on the map and then change their properties to make them Objective Waypoints numbered 0 thru 3 (ie: four possible objectives). Now just drag them to wherever you want the crosshair to move to on the briefing map when the player clicks an objective. If you have less than 4 objectives then just place any surplus waypoints at the same location as one that you are using.

To change the pictures that show up when you click the objective, you have to edit the relevant brfg_box.rsb (located in the briefing folder) and replace the pictures with your own. The top row is for Objective 1, down to row 4 for Objective 4.

If you don't want the command map to show up in the briefing then remove the entry for it in the env file for that map, eg: <CMBitmap>d01_beach.rsb</CMBitmap>. Of course it won't show up in-game either

Cheers, Jack :rocky:

when you are in igor, make four way points ( one for each objective) and place them where you want them. then on the little menu thingy on the right list them as objectives. they start at 0 and go to 3

cheers......
